And you watched the movie. How did you like it?

Literally a peck, yes!

I LOVED IT. I'm having withdrawal symptoms 🤣 I can't believe how good Ranveer was. I haven't watched him in anything since Gully boy and it was sooooo good to see him again. Hes such an amazing actor. I'm shocked at how he owned that role. Him and Alia together was sooooo 🥰. I wrote this in the other thread but I was crying during Tum Kya Mile like booboo the fool. They were so cute.

seriously I came out from the theatre smiling and feeling all warm and fuzzy and super happy..most movies don’t make you feel like that today..nobody from the audience even got up when the wedding montage sequence played in the end..Rocky was such a lovable and wonderful character..but I actually cried when Rocky and Rani’s dad hugged ..for me they both were just the best characters of this movie ❤️

Yes. It was an emotional roller coaster. When Dharmendra with his ‘aaj mausam bada beimaan’ starts walking towards Shabana, people were clapping and cheering for him. There were several moments where people were cheering. I haven’t been a part of such an audience in the recent times.

Speaking of the chemistry,Ranveer and Alia are easily the best couple from the current lot.

Edit: oops. Wrong song. The song was ‘ abhi na jao chod kar’

Omg thats a perfect way to put it. Made you all all warm and fuzzy after the movie ended! Same with my theater. No one was getting up and girl I had to go to the restroom but everyone looked comfortable watching the montage. S I kept watching too 😭

Aw, those scenes were so moving. Loved them a lot.

@ Bold - Easily!!! They look so comfortable with each other on screen. They give you the kind of "made for each other" vibes. Even in Gully boy, I felt that. She was toxic but that was HER MAN 😡

Ranveer was the soul of the film. His Rocky was funny, ignorant, privileged, but he was always willing to learn, grow annd his heart was always in the right place. His relationships with Kanwal and Ranis father made my heart melt!

I thought out of Rocky and Rani, Rocky was the better written character and Ranveer really put a lot of TLC into Rocky. Rocky also loved Rani more, and the growth of Rocky leading up to standing up to his grandmother was amazing!

Rani came off a little too insta woke for me. Like she had the fat sister in law , the Anupama lite mother in law, parampara obsessed, diabetes poster child in the form of the grandmother, the patriarchal father in law… she had every relevant social cause handed to her on a platter, and she was their ray of hope, which was very TV serial and tropey for me. She came in ready to judge, and ready to fix them to her standards.

Alias family was more nuanced, i wanted to punch someone when they mocked the dancing father. Rocky’s matured approach to Alia’s family and winning them over, specially when the mother says I was wrong about Rocky resonates more.

ps: all the older feel good songs deserve a mention. Well placed songs, at the right moments, helped the narrative and made the movie more engaging

This! A starplus bahu in her full glory.

And the way Alia delivered the role was also like look how I am getting to portray this confident woman. It didn’t flow naturally. But I loved the way her eyes would sparkle looking at Rocky. You fall in love with Rocky through Rani’s eyes. Alia was able to portray the shift from amusement to affection so well.

Agree about Rocky’s relationship with Rani’s family. I think he was more successful in mingling with them and mending the bridges than her. And I want to watch a full movie with Ranveer and Tota choudhary playing father son. I still can’t get over the way they bonded so well. And that dance..can’t get enough of them.❤️

I was shocked that people would mock a male Kathak dancer. Wasn’t aware of such a thing before this movie. I cried the most during that scene. And loved how Rocky suddenly realizes what was going on and promptly goes to the dad to apologize.

Rani was trying to stop Tijori from slapping Rocky , she did right 👍 why should she apologize, just Cos they are elders, they can get away with anything? . The min a person raises hand on anyone needs to stopped .
