Even Punjabi good looks are overrated.

All they have is fair skin and good height.

Otherwise hardly any delicate or sharp features. Biggest issue is a big pakoda nose and flaring nostrils.

Everyone looks bulky and women also look bulky, muscular and hardly lean or with sharp features. A lot of Punjabi women look manly and less feminine. And Punjabis have also have big teeth.

I have never seen a Punjabi woman with sharp and delicate features like Ash, Waheeda Rehman, Sadhana, Leela Naidu etc.

Punjabis also have heavier frame, tendency to gain weight and deeper voices.

The command over language is also questionable as Punjabis always speak Hindi with a Punjabi accent or laced with Punjabi. The bad pronunciation of Hindi and Urdu is a clear giveaway that actor is Punjabi.

I mean just hear how Akshay Kumar or Ayushmaan speak dialogues. Contrast it to pronunciation of Amitabh, Pankaj Tripathi.

Speak for yourself. You might have a big bulky frame as a woman.. but the majority doesn't. Jatt Sikhs and Rajputs have very sharp features, this post literally confirms you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about 😆 Even more so the last part about our English, many Punjabis are born abroad or moved there at a young age, thus our accents are mostly British/American/Canadian đŸ«

And yeah even if the ones back in India speak Hindi with an accent, what does that have to do with the topic of "Indians not appealing to audiences worldwide".. you really are being miserable here or what 🙄

A lot of the time Miss World and Miss Universe title holders are Indian.

BW has been around for long.

They cannot let go off history to try many new concepts.

BW wants to be away from a certain pure, ki d if love stories. They just want to show drink, drugs, live in relationships.

In Korean shows they show some man handling during the beginning. BW will see a rise if feminist campaigns. They can only tolerate this in the Korean TV shows.

BW is forced to move toward social issues I feel with Korean shows it doesn't have that pressure.

They can do concepts from Aliens to mermaids. It's fine.

I'll watch my love from the stars repeatedly over any hindi drama myself

Atominis. I have seen a lot of Punjabi women, slim and also with sharp features. Pretty women.

Maybe just in the movies they might use hatti khatti actresses. I don't want Punjabi films so I wouldn't know.

Yes I heard it’s akhand Bharat . It asserts that modern-day Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Tibet are one nation.

I think it's beyond. We don't know much about Bharat history.Sanatana dharma is all over d earth. In Cambodia ancient temples are still there. Ramayana is national book of Thailand .hinduism in Indonesia etc...

Wowsers, great spot..

Probably will get cancelled for this, as I'm probably guilty of generalising but on this forum and in my actual life, noticed a certain group who think they're superior than other regional groups in India. Several comments by Mrs Ackles and DheeJattanDi putting down anyone from other than their region also come to mind here.

Not gonna lie, back in the day that thought did cross my mind. So I don’t blame you. It was hard not to. Those posts by Mrs.Ackles were hard to miss. No one confronted her either. Not that I remember. She was nasty. People also weren’t as progressive back then so perhaps they didn’t even think her posts were wrong. Twitter was new. No Insta or tiktok to spread awareness unless you were born with it, I suppose. I mean it’s 2023, internet is everywhere and we still see negative stereotypes being propagated. Imagine!

Having said that, over the years, I have interacted with many others who share the same culture and those people have been amazing, open minded and inclusive individuals. So I’ve come to the conclusion that every group has a lot of self loathing individuals. Unfortunately, those seem to be most vocal thus leaving a sour taste in our mouths especially if we encountered them at an impressionable age. I think the only way out of this is through active questioning of our own internal biases especially at times where it’s human tendency to fall prey to othering the unfamiliar.

Sorry, didn’t mean to belabor the point. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts publicly and earnestly so wanted to voice out my own, also.

Sita Maa birthplace is Janakpur which is now in Nepal. Modern day Nepal and Modern day India are two different countries but in past they were part of Akhand Bharat.

Shah dynasty in 17s unified various parts and called it Nepal. Some part of Nepal should have been in India like Janakpur area and Lumbini and some parts of India should have been with Nepal like Darjeeling and Kalimpong.

“Akhand Bharat”

Did you lift this straight from a Hindu Nationalist website? I guess rest of the world hasn’t caught up with this pipe dream yet? One google search not looking very favorable
