While we are waiting for the next chapter with bated breath, I have come to following conclusions after reanalyzing Arnav's behavior overall -

I realize, maybe looking for valid reasons from Arnav for cheating /hurting Khushi is a wishful thinking.

I will NOT be surprised if he had full-fledged affair and was sleeping with Lavanya when Khushi was in Mumbai in Shantivan in Nov-Dec 2015time frame. I strongly feel this is 200% true.

He may or may not even have valid reason to ignore Khushi’s primal desire so brutally and deny her baby.

I will put my full analysis if this turns out to be true......

So folks be prepared. Anyone agrees / disagrees?? Forum has to be alive and kicking until Arpita posts next chapter...

I would like to join in on the discussion.

I am one of those who think this was a one time thing. I have reasons to believe that Arnav may have been vulnerable at the moment but it is irrelevant. He has caused a lot of damage and I don’t want to defend him for what he did. The points I am making are simply because of what I picked from the story. I will also list what are the things for which I can’t seem to have an explanation and the ones which make me doubt my assumption.

First I will list down why I think it was a one time thing

• My biggest clue is Arnav saying to Akash ‘I slept with Lavanya’ instead of I’m seeing Lavanya or dating her. Akash is his good friend and belongs to the same industry and yet Appy di mentioned his eyes went wide with shock and disbelief
• It’s highly out of character for Arnav to have an affair. I mean I can see a lot of difference between the 34 and 24 year old Arnav. But he had always had a sense of responsibility. In the last chapter, he is quite pissed with his parents and yet when he sees his mother coming towards him, he goes to take his dad’s wheelchair. Goes on to show he still cares and Khushi is right in thinking so
• He is ready to tell Khushi about Lavanya now. He was ready to tell her earlier as well but in one of the earlier chapters he thinks that if Khushi is agreeing to the divorce without it, then he should not hurt her more. Now he tells Akash that Khushi can take a decision after knowing about Lavanya and it’s not a secret that he wants Khushi back now and missed her
• His complete cut off from Lavanya. The only time he has spoken to her somewhat normally is prologue. Contrary to all the comments, I don’t think he feels an emotional connect with Lavanya. His responses are very dry and cold to her almost always. Manali tells him that Lavanya is ruining her career and promotional activities and he doesn’t give a shit about it
• He cut down the budget if her film almost immediately. He thinks to himself that he will deal with her and Manali later because right now Khushi needs him more. But still did something which was probably in his immediate capacity
• Those photos which were sent to Khushi make me believe that there is some kind of foul play going on.

now there are other things which make me think otherwise. Here are the

• Manali tells him he has not been in touch with Lavanya or ‘available’ for her. That he went MIA from her life after filing for divorce
• Arnav says that the relationship conversation has happened with Lavanya. Many times. His stand has been clear
• She knows about his divorce and that he is planning to talk to Khushi

I have no explanation for these.

now my theory

Arnav has some kind of emotional bonding with Lavanya but not a deep one. Appy di has written that she has recently signed a couple of movies with AR. I am sure they must have met. Given that she is obsessed with him, she tried to weasel her way into his life.

Arnav, who has been feeling cut off from his wife found solace in another friend. He may have confined into her about divorce.

Why do I think that is? Because there is a Nepal trip mentioned. It’s his ‘usual’ or annual trip or something which he first cancelled and then went on abruptly. I am inclined to think Lavanya, his new friend, joined him on this last minute trip. An emotional Arnav may have confided into her and one thing must have led to another (🤢). But then, this pictures angle came forward and together they are now trying to find the blackmailer. Manali says she wished Arnav would not have filed for divorce till dariya release and till they could pay off their blackmailer. Which is why I think he kept Lavanya informed about his divorce. He doesn’t like Manali’s interference though and once the photos are taken care of, he gives no explanation to either of them and leaves both of them in the party.

If he slept once or multiple time it doesn’t matter. He crossed the line while he was married. His photos are dead give away that he was passionate with Lavanya and Lavanya came to Shantivan in Khushi’s absence. Even if one has professional relationships with opposite sex it’s common courtesy that one’s spouse should be home when he/ she come for visit or you should tell your partner. Arnav failed to inform Khushi.

On top of that someone captured their photos. I think it’s Manali and Lavanya planned this way to free Arnav from his marriage. But they didn’t know that Arnav refused to marry and not fall in their traps. And nobody blackmailing Lavanya I think it’s all planned to make Arnav guilty.

iI think Arnav made up his mind to give divorce to Khushi he was going to tell her about Lavanya and free himself from Khushi. But he wanted to do on his terms. But someone send Photos to Khushi( most probably Lavanya and Manali) and tables were turned on Arnav.

Once Khushi agree to divorce , Arnav got cold feet and now he is stuck as he was sure that Khushi didn’t know about Lavanya and he will pacify Khushi and everything will become normal. But nature works differently . Khushi is back in Arnav’s life and Lavanya’s plans failed and Arnav got tangled in his own web.
All balls in Khushi’s court now, it her chance to to make decisions for her life by herself and not depend on any man in her life be it Arnav or her father.

definitely. I am not saying ONS in any capacity is forgivable. But given the kind of character that has been written for him, I don’t think he was capable of having an affair. It will somehow become worse for me if he had an affair. I genuinely think he and Lavanya became closer friends during this time period and that Nepal trip has something to do with it.

Also, I noticed another twist. Manali and Lavanya on their Maldives resort talked about the photos. It didn’t look like either of them knew about who is behind that. If it was their planning, why would they talk like this?

He did mess up big time and one time or more, it is not forgivable. Cheating is cheating. No one here is about to give him a pass on that one.

But at the same time, I think the affair was a short one. He did everything wrong but he is not a total low down scoundrel with no regard for anyone. He has a sense of right and wrong and he was raked with guilt over his actions. And that would be his saving grace.

He justified his actions based on his own perceptions and assumptions. Failed to validate them with Khushi even though he knew she never turned him away when he reached out to her. That was one of many dropped balls. Why did he not share his feelings and problems with her? He didn't think she would understand? He wanted to keep her out of it? Either way, he missed more chances to keep their connection going.

When he was going on his annual trips, why was she not with him? Did he ask her to go? Try to convince her to go? If she said no, did he try to figure out why? If Khushi was the one turning down these opportunities, why was she doing that? Traveling together would have done a world of good.

For now, the biggest suspects behind sending those pictures are Lavanya and Manali. But it is very much possible that someone else did. It was mean but how do you do this in a nice way? She did deserve to know. He should have been the one to tell her.

For Khushi's sake, I hope he does turn out to be redeemable. We want her to come to depend on herself, grow into her own being, realize her hopes and ambitions, live life on her own terms. But deep down, she will still think of him. She is not one who would forget him so easily. She will find happiness on her own, but her full happiness is linked to him. She will move on to some level but how much? I don't see her accepting another man in her life so easily even if a nice guy crosses her path.

The one thing we all want is for her to be happy. Whichever way it is.

He is the one who at least in 3 separate instances must have thought that Khushi always responded to him whenever he reached out. That she was the one who always tried to mend communication. Why did he not talk with her then? About baby issue or even Lavanya.

And true, your second point. The teeny tiny hope that I have for him is for Khushi’s sake. My Arshi heart does want him to move mountains for khushi and be worthy enough for her. also I want him to grieve and Grovel the way Khushi did. Worse than her even. But at the end I want Khushi’s priority to be herself. Whether she chooses to forgive him or not, is a bridge we will come to later. First, she needs to choose herself.
