I think a known pairing like Ayushman-Yami OR Kartik-Nushrat would work for a film like Mr. India.

Sadly, only a handful of actors/actresses have a good comic-timing today.

I haven't watched Khuda Gawaah. So can't comment.

I agree with you. But not all actors are bad

Ranbir, Ranveer, Rajkumar, Vicky are all good and versatile actors. Same with actresses like Alia, Nushrat , Bhui Yami, etc who're all distinct and talented👍🏼

2010-2019 should've been the decade of these new actors( and to an extent it was) But they never developed a strong foothold at the box office, because Khans and Akshay/Ajay still ruled the industry and

Millennials do not like the new gen actors because BW started promoting mediocrity with the likes of Jhanvi, Ananaya, Ishaan, Tiger, Tara etc.

With Khans/Akshay/Ajay approaching their 60s, hopefully the newer lot will come into their own in the ongoing decade because I really want the older lot to either retire or do age-appropriate roles.

BW has the tendency of overdoing it when something works.

Yes, there were a lot of Urban and 'modern' films being made, but it coincided with globalization in India at that time. BW was full of mediocre actors and films even before the 90s. 80s is arguably the worst decade of BW when it comes to commercial masala films. 90s films were rather a breath of fresh air.

I also think current generation is more harsh than the previous, because mediocrity has always existed in BW. While the older generation was also quite unacceptable of the newer lot, they did not go ahead to bully or completely discard the new generation, something that Millennials love to do with GenZ.

Eg. Karisma was quite mediocre when she debuted. But she worked on herself, and proved her mettle and the audiences accepted her.

Today, the audience won't give that kind of chance to any Nepo kid. One bad performance, and you find yourself becoming a meme for life (Referring to Sara Ali Khan's "Tum Mujhe Tang Karte Ho"😆)

It is difficult to remake Sunny Deols films like Arjun, Ghatak and Gadar. Only he can reprise those roles. There was nobody in his generation who could have done those roles better than him. And there is no one in this generation who can do those ros as good as him.
