I was hanging out with my gal pals last night😆 and we had this really fun discussion of re-casting our favorite 80s and 90s films, with young actors😳(i.e active actors from the current lot)

Damini: Vidya as Meenakshi and Ranbir Kapoor reprising his dad’s role. Not sure who would be able to do Sunny and Amrish’s roles from the current lot.

On that note, Is there anyone who can do the classic action movies like Ghayal, Ghatak etc?

Chaal Baaz: Alia in Sridevi’s role with Ranbir and Ranveer as her sidekicks, er I mean male leads.😆

No body is asking for a remake. This is just a fun poll.

Damini's casting is spot on. I also think we really deserve a Vidya-Ranbir collab. They're both strong actors.

I think Rana Daggubati (Bahubali fame) can pull-off Sunny Deol's roles but is he popular in Hindi belt? don

I find actors like Vidyut and John quite bland, even though they've quite a macho public image, but they don't have the aura and conviction of Sunny Deol.

Damn going through this topic made me realise how badly the standards have fallen in BW. 😭 I can't think of one movie where today's actors would easily replace their older counterparts.

But just for fun Ranveer(Salman's role) and Ranbir(Aamir's role) in Andaaz Apna Apna just to see them together. They both have actual fun chemistry.

The standards started falling around 1990s with stories becoming more and more urban and losing touch with the ground reality. The job requirement changed from acting to modeling.

Rana for Sunny’s role? That’s too big a shoes to fill in I think. And I agree about none of the current stars having the aura of Sunny. John and Vidyut may be action stars but Ghayal kind of movies need an actor not merely an action star.

Also do you see any heroine from the current lot to be able to do a Meenakshi in the movie Dacait? I recently found this movie and was blown away by the sheer rawness of the story and performances, especially Meenakshi.
