Abhimanyu's POV

It's been 13 days since Priya's father went to his heavenly abode after fixing our alliance. I still remember how broken she was after losing her father.

My father was also affected after losing his dearest friend. I have never seen him this affectionate towards his own family as he's with his friend's family.

I wanted to console my father for his loss. However, he sent me to Priya and told me to be with her.

I went to Priya, and the moment I touched her shoulder to console her, She threw herself into my surprised embrace and cried bitterly.

Something stirred inside me to hear her cries. She's affecting me even though we just met. Is it possible to feel something for the girl I met recently and don't know much about her except for her name? It is insaneness, I am telling you.

Yes, I know this is not the first time that I experienced something like that, Whatsoever I am not ready to go on the same way again.

However, the heights of insaneness are what I have been doing right now. I am still waiting for the one call or a message from Akshara.

It has been 13 days since I came here and got calls and messages from every Tom, Dick, and Harry, ok this is not the correct term to use as those who called and messaged me also include my mother and my children, ok the point is I got calls or messages from everyone even kairav messaged me and shown his disappointment for not attending his marriage. Whereas the person whose call or message am waiting for never came.

Am I so de trop in her life that she didn't feel my absence and not even feel like asking me about my sudden disappearance from the wedding?

Then why she's still so important in my life? Why do I have her photo hidden inside my wallet? Why do I have a locked folder of her photographs on my mobile phone?

Why am I still pinning over her when she has unmistakably moved on? Why is it so difficult to forget her?

Hey Mahadev, Please help me, help me to move on from her so that I can become a better husband for Priya. It will be an Injustice to her if I am still going to pin over my ex-wife.

For That, I have to destroy all the memories of her that I have perpetuated to date. Else I won't be able to move on with Priya with my past lingering inside my phone and wallet.

End of Abhimanyu's POV

Abhimanyu was sitting on the porch of Mehta's flat, lost in his thoughts when Priya came to him with two mugs of coffee.

He made her some space to sit on the little couch placed there.

Priya offered him a mug of coffee which he gladly accepted then she settled beside him.

Priya caught sight of his troubled face and couldn't stop herself and asked, "Are You ok ?"

"I should be the one asking you this and here you are asking me " Abhimanyu chuckled.

"Mai theek hun, Ha papa ki yaad toh aayegi hi humesha but harsh uncle mujhe zara si bhi der unki kami feel nhi hone dete" She recounted how Harsh never left her alone even for a sec. He was always there for her, to console, comfort, and to pat her to sleep.

"Papa likes you." he commented.

"I know unki favorite jo hu, you know maa k jaane k baad sirf papa ne hi nhi uncle ne bhi mujhe pala he's like my second father , every year he used to come during my summer vacations , papa toh apko bhi laane ko kehte but you were so into your studies that you never came " she recalled her childhood.

Abhimanyu got amused to hear this new information about his father then he remembered that his father used to request him to accompany him to Mumbai but he never accepted his request and also used to decline it harshly.

"waise aap bhi humse milne aate toh humare papas ki tarah hum bhi best friends ho sakte the right ?" she exclaimed.

"Friends toh hum abhi bhi ban sakte hai , so what say friends ?" he offered his hand for friendship which she gleefully accepted.

Both got lost in each other's eyes, and the voice of his father scolding a house help broke their moment, and before the air turned awkward, he thought to make the situation normal.

"aur waise bhi kehte hai na Husband wife k relation mai friendship zaroor honi tabhi shaddi successful banti hai"

Then she remembered the reason for her coming to meet Abhi. She straightened her back and prepared herself to talk with Abhi, which caught his attention.

"aise kyo lag rha hai tum school k kisi principal k samne jaane k liye apne aap ko prepare kar rhi ho" he teased her for her action, which was a little amusing to him.

"nhi wo mai wo"she hesitated

"relax, tum mujhse kuch bhi keh sakti ho aur ab toh hum dost hai so relax aur jo kehna hai bina kisi dar bina kisi hestitance ke kaho , I'll be always there for you" He assured her

"aap chahe toh shaadi k liye mana kar sakte hai " She babbled,

"What ?" he asked after not getting the single word she babbled

She sighed and started again,

"I know app ye shaddi nhi karna chahte , wo situation aisi thi ki apko ha bolna bada par mai nhi chahti aap kisi pressure mai aake ye shaddi kare isliye agar aap chahte hai toh shaddi k liye mana kar sakte hai koi aapko blame nhi karega" she concluded.

Abhimanyu blankly stared at her for a minute. He does not know what to think of it. For a second, He got an urge to accept her offer but, can he do it? No, His conscience would never allow him.

Abhimanyu then turned his face from her direction to the other, reclined his head on the back of the couch, he closed his eyes to hide the tears forming in his eyes. Before it flow down , he wiped them away with the help of his palm and opened his eyes in remorse after remembering the past events.

"maine meri life mai aaj tak bohot promises kiye hai kuch nibhaiye bhi hai but jyada tode hai aur uski saza bhi shayad mujhe mili hai par agar maine ye wada toda na , Na Mere Mahadev mujhe maaf karenge na hi main khud ko maaf kar paunga" he mused

He turned his face to her side and looked directly into her eyes, Moving a bit closer to her side, He held her hands in his and continued, "Janta hu tum apne future ko leke worried ho humare future ko leke worried ho , Bohot doubts bhi honge tumhare man main aur hone bhi chaiye par wo saare doubts saare dar tum mere saath share kar sakti ho , toh batao kya hai tumhare man mai jo tumne mujhse ye sab kaha"

Priya is confused about what to say now. Yes, he was right. She has been worried about their future. She trusts her father's choice. She knows Abhi will always keep her happy. She can thoroughly see that. But what about his happiness ?, Would he let her enter the personal space he had given to his ex-wife?

He shall become the reason for her happiness, No doubt. But would he also let her become the reason for his exhilaration?

"mujhe nhi samjh aa rha mai kya kahu aapse, mai janti hu aap apne saare waade nibhayenge puri shiddhat se par kya ye kafi hai ek successful marriage k liye , aur jis situation mai humari shaddi ho rhi hai kya wo real bhi hogi" she blurted out all that were in her heart in front of him.

"Tum aisa kyo keh rhi hu humari shaddi real nhi hogi off course humari shaddi real hogi " he got confused hearing her strange question.

" wo mujhe aapki aur arohi ki shaddi k baare mai pta hai " She hesitated but continued, "wo maine ek baar uncle ki baat suni thi aur mujhe laga jaise aap apne bhai ki wife se shaddi kar rhe thi waise hi humari shaddi bhi ek marriage of convenience banke reh jayegi" she concluded.

"Nhi aisa nhi hai , Arohi aur mera rishta alag tha , hum dono hi sirf ruhi k liye shaddi kar rhe the, hum dono ko hi shaddi nhi chaiye thi bas ruhi k parents bankar rehna chahte the but abhir ka sach pta lagne k baad toh ruhi k liye bhi mai arohi se shaddi nhi kar sakta tha " he sighed

"and our relationship is completely different from what I had with Arohi.I can't disrepect you by even offering you a convenient marriage You don't deserve that. already hi mujhse shaddi karne k baad meri life k complications tumhare bhi hone wale uske upar ek samjhote wali shaddi ka bhoj mai tumhare upar nhi dal sakta aur na hi dalna chahta hu humari shaddi real hogi waisi hi real jaise sab arranged marriages hoti hai " he continued,

"mai ye nhi kehta mera past humari life mai nhi aayega but I promise you that I'll make sure it won't affect our relationship aur mai tumare liye best husband banne ka try karunga , the husband you deserve" He cupped her hands, and promised her.

Tears were flowing down her eyes after hearing his open confession, he didn't promise her stars and moon as many do to their soon-to-be wives but an honesty that many relationships lack.

"I promise you too, to become the best wife for you." She lovingly declared, looking deep into his eyes.
