When my brother was posted in J&K he bought 2-3 small boxes of saffron threads. Those were pure kashmiri saffron. One or two threads was more then enough to give strong colour and flavour to a liter milk. I dont know how much it costed by i don't think it costed 16 dollars. If so he wouldn't have bought 2-3 boxes 😆.

With inflation and the value of money being different it would cost much more in Pakistan than in India i guess.

are squat toilets very common still in India/Pakistan?

Dawood's father repeatedly said safraani biriyani and i watched that episode after we had our biriyani discuss there. So i noticed. They had sweets served.

Squat toilets are still common in public places and old houses that didn't renovate their bathroom. I dont know how it's in the northern area of India.
