MK is not perfect, but so is not Meerab. Both are flawed. But that's fine. In real life too, no one is perfect, we act according to the situations as per our ability. We get happy with some of our choices while end up regretting others. Both did not make great choices, Murtasim some, Meerab a lot more.
Murtasim's latest choice of volunteering to marry Haya trumps sum of all wrong choices made by Meerab so far. I had not watched today's episode before I wrote my original post.
Now after watching it, I do feel there is more than meets the eye and am somewhat confident that MK has has proposed marriage to Haya with some purpose other than being pressurized or with the need to move on. You may want to go through my post on the DT to know why I think so - link below.
If you haven't watched the epi, I would recommend you do.
I still do not believe MK's love for Meerab was not real or that he was ever interested in Haya.
https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/163535647
My complaints are two-fold, murtasim was never great, he seemed better(defending meerab during fish allergy is similar to defending haya for clinging onto him, waleema defence he also defended his mum's statute, protecting meerab during kidnap is similar to protecting mariyum from MZ changul for khandaani izzath)because responsible nature is misconstrued as his love for his wife. But he turned out to be very shallow and superficial in nature.
1. In the 1st place murtasim isn't a great character. All the assumptions of his greatness are disproven with today, one painful fact his words are very superficial and sadly he never gets to the bottom of the things, not even once did he pay attention to what meerab has been accusing or he never bothered to make sure meerab is safe neither after mariyum fiasco, dropping her at Waqas's place and aftertheir CS when meerab's suddenly gone missing. He can be comedy and be readily agreed to do anything including marrying Haya without any apparent pressure even from his mum. Nothing justifies this behaviour when he claim to be loving his wife eternally and unconditionally.
2.Meerab accusations about MuYa's closeness are all true. They were meant to be together had it not been for meerab's networth(property share through Anwar's daughter)her sophisticated upbringing by her foster parents. Hence meerab's justified at being angry and not accepting their forced marriage and murtasim's indeed an untrustworthy partner jinka koi bharosa nahi.
So, my question is does the writer really think this is a great lovestory or a masterpiece 🤔 .
I'm Seriously irritated and beyond dismayed with murtasim's proposal of marriage to Haya when his mom is persuading her to marry someone suitable to her. What exactly is his rationale behind conveniently assuming his wife can elope with her classmate right after having CS with him. Atleast is it not his responsibility to ensure she's OK after they have done the deed.
NM story reflects a feudal society where women are forced and enslaved in the name of marriage to provide bed comforts, give birth and nurture the heirs with no objecting or conflicting emotions with their khandaans.
If this setup is still prevalent in Pakistan of today then my condolences to all those women and foremost to NM for promoting and romanticising such backward thought processes.
I’m not pissed off at the episode any more than I was with its precap last week. In fact, this episode only aligned with my earlier analysis.
The episode highlighted a few things:
1. Haya has been adamantly refusing every proposal throughout the year
2. MK’s doubt on Haya. He again questioned her if she was involved in Meerab leaving.
Why did he ask her this? He was giving her a chance to come clean and go scot free. With her lie, she lost her chance and his mercy.
3. Haya could have answered a simple ‘no’, she could have escaped. Her answer was the most apparent lie on MK’s face: Had I been there, Meerab would have been here
He knew it’s a lie.
4. Thank God for small mercies. MK didn’t allow H to put that ring on him. Notice he wore the ring on his own. And he didn’t bother to wait for formalities and mu meetha karna.
MK kisi ka jhoota nahi khata
5. MK again recalled the scene about losing umeed and promising Haya the ring.
Why would the makers insert this fb while giving us devdas MK simultaneously? He hasn’t lost umeed.
6. MK’s body language throughout the episode, his subtle eye rolls, eyes twitching, jaw ticking at Haya’s antics.
7. MK’s silence when Anwar defends Meerab. He was not ashamed. He should be ashamed if he’s moving on so quickly after claiming to love his daughter, no?
This was such a deja vu of Waqas’s adalat and MK’s silence.
8. And why would Anwar specifically talk about ‘Intezaar’? Hasn’t MK been saying ishq is ‘intezaar’?
9. How come Anwar has suddenly grown a spine and is speaking for Meerab when it is a story about MK’s ishq and intezaar?
Sure, Anwar gets a redemption, but never at the cost of the writer’s favourite character.
10. Haya’s monologue during the engagement. Confirmation: She never loved Murtasim. It was always MK and the power of being his Begum. So there’s hope for no redemption for her. She won’t become mahaan and sacrifice something she isn’t capable of.😆
But the harsh facts remain:
1. Meerab is being character assasinated publicly. MK has allowed this.
2. This is a public engagement. MK is going along with it.
same here!!! Im okay with the episode!!
something not making sense.. why does he ask that question out of no where..
Im actually excited for tmrw’s episode!
thank you for the tag ❤️❤️❤️ love reading ur posts!!

Like I mentioned in my other reply, Not once I have thought that Murtasim's love for Meerab was not real or that he was ever interested in Haya.
Even this engagement is not going to change my mind because it was not as straightforward as 2+2=4 like they showed in the promo.
The episode made it plenty clear that Murtasim changed his mind with some purpose. Remains to be seen what that is.
Both are the worst thing to have happened to the other.
And both may end up being the best thing that ever happened to the other by the end of the show.
Picture abhi baaki hai 😊

He can be born a thousand times but it doesn't negate who he is and the choices he made now. Not a million lifetime or a thousand apology will fix his will and intentions.
He's a hollow drum. Loving him is like loving time. He never stays. He always passes and goes on. Never still. Never. You can't be with that ever.
Meerabs worst punishment was marrying him. I wish she ran before marriage. He is the worst thing to happen to her. He came as a heavenly dream and eternal promise. Lekin usne rooh ki katal kardi. Yeh tha uska Pyaar aur sabr.
We all need one at this point!! 🤗
Mere kandhe MK ke choices ke bojh aur nahi uthaa sakte😭 Jaldi khatam karo yeh show!!!!

I was feeling so alone with my thoughts 😵 So glad to know I have company❤️
But I’m somewhat happy most of the audience thinks there’s no plan! This would make MK’s plan NM’s ‘unpredictable’ twist. 🤣 But this time in the audience’s favour!! HOPEFULLY!!!
