Casual racism or PR gone wrong? (DP/Alia)

I mean the whole thing reads like a PR piece for sure. But would Alia’s PR really go this far? Racism amongst western journalists is not a surprise really so this could be entirely that. Or is it a combination of her overzealous PR asking for a random blurb in U.K. with some talking points, and then the writer adding his own commentary in the form a blatant falsehood?

But here’s the most important question. Who should be more embarrassed here? Alia because her PR plan got screwed up so badly, or Deepika for being mistaken for Alia? 😆

Didn't they also call her Aishwarya during Met?

They do not look even remotely alike. First she got mistaken for Aish remember?

That one I believed as laziness combined with racism on the part of the photographer. But this person did enough research to know about her recent work yet still “confused” her for Deepika?

International PR-agents who work for I-don't-know-how-many other agencies may not have the knowledge of the differences between Aish, Deepika and Alia...for them they are female Indian stars whose name they may have come across but not knowing of their current work.

They get the order to write a piece for the press and it's not even verified...shoddy work of lazy/indifferent/ignorant people...

Why not both? They probably sent a fluff piece, the journalist probably saw the RRR bit and added the Oscar performance. It's not exactly uncommon for western journalists to confuse all Asian actresses.
