Lahore dialogue is for Punjabis who have still not forgotten it was capital of Maharaja Ranjit Singh empire. So the makers are aware of fantasies of getting back Lahore someday.

Dialogue was regressive AF with stuff on dahej or nariyal etc.

Who is singing Ghar aaja pardesi? Is that Arijit? Why not Udit? That dull voiced Arijit can never match original.

As regressive as it may sound, that dialogue happened…context was different but uttered by none other than our beloved Vajpayee jee. Of course he was only replying to the Pak Journalist who offered to marry him but in muh dikhayi demanded Kashmir which he accepted and demanded entire Pakistan as dahej.😅 Can’t believe these people have lifted it verbatim.

Gaddar didn’t only work Cos of songs ; everything from story , performances, direction , songs was top notch ! Add the right dose of sentiment and emotions . Even sunny deols movie Indian was pitted against shah’s Ashoka came out as a winner . Sunny can connect easily with aam janta if given right script and direction . Coming to gaddar 2 , I hope the director doesn’t focus too much on his son , hope he is not cashing on such a legendary movie with his talentless beta.

Amrish not being there is a huge setback. He was partly a big reason why Ghayal, Gadar, Ghatak, Damini etc were such big hits. Perfect adversary to Sunny.

Arijit mangling Udja Kaale kawa is blasphemy. Loser has a dull voice and only good for thakela songs.

Gadar wasn't even a top 5 album of 2001. Why keep harping on infactual information. KKKG, Lagaan, Yaadein, Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai & Raaz rounded out the top 5.

Neither was Gadar a "Punjab" Hit. It broke records in 80% of the circuits. It was a massive HIT in the south as well. The movie did 5.5 cr footfalls. Pathaan for instance did 3.4. Thats like a 1200 cr grosser today. People don't realize the scale.

On another note 2001 had some amazing albums. Add in DCH, Gadar, Tum Bin, Ajnabee to the above & just might be the Golden Year as far as music is concerned.

It’s a shame how the BW has completely eliminated the traditional villain roles by glorifying the Villain characters and making the A lister heroes play them Just like how they have eliminated the traditional vamp roles by making the heroines play both.😳
