Anupamaa was always a traditional woman ideated to think of the place she marries into, as the whole and sole purpose of her life going forward. Post marriage, she even got distant from her mother and brother and expecting her to give such a status to Kapadias can't even be conceived. People say that Shahs are relevant as her children, father of her children etc but what is also true, is that Anupamaa's own inherent sense of identity is derived from caring for and serving the Shah family. They may always be linked to her by relation but till the time Anupamaa herself does not move out of the universe she has created in her head where Shahs are the centre around whom she orbits, they will continue to be her only family and she won't give up on that.

I could be wrong but if you noticed when she said ye Anuj hain MD’s expressions made it evident that Anu must been talking about Anuj all the time.

Because when Anuj introduced Anu to Mukku similar thing was there.

Also in that Mehndi epi when MD said tum ab bhi Anuj se ….. so MD knows everything about Anuj and most probably Anu has told her everything about them and him.

Anuj deserves this. Bhakt ke sthaan pairon pe hoti hai. Where else did you expect Anuj to be placed in her priority list ? Be happy she mentioned Anuj at least.

I havent watched the episode, only saw a short clip of Anuj ka intro so cant comment…for all we know MD could have no relation with Anuj at all, probably just a fan of pre-Anupamaa Anuj, he was a phamous bijinessman in Amrika afterall.
