Yes, I also don’t think it’s about him promising to marry her by giving her the ring. I think he would have been disgusted and disturbed by that thought so we would have seen that on his face. But who knows why he’s even saying anything about the ring, or entertaining that witch at this point. Losing patience is right.
I'm not worried about the ring dialogue. I'm losing my patience with his casual demeanour when H is loitering around after all this.
The writer can be very very stupid to not be able to think of a way to have the villain in the house, agreed. But THIS is sickening and does she even care about her characters?
