We should respect our freedom fighters. Swatantrya Veer Savarkar was one of them. He dedicated his entire life to Indian freedom struggle. He served the toughest punishment of 'Kala Pani Ki Saza' in Andaman and Nicobar islands. His sacrifice for India is inspirational.

Don't take his words for face value.....His was the follower of Ahimsa.....and of course this is one of the principles....try to understand the deeper meaning behind it....there is a reason why he is revered all over the world......I am a self respecting Hindu too...and yes I love Gandhi ji....ok now that I know why you guys were laughing......its fine.....you laughing at me for what i believe in doesn't make me any less of a Hindu...
🤣🤣🤣🤣.. this is not the hill to die on blue-ice, what he said is absolutely indefensible, there is no deeper meaning behind, "Even if the Muslims want to kill us all we should face death bravely." it's unambiguous, unequivocal, and it's a completely insane thing to say and absolutely irresponsible!
Your defence of this indefensible position is a classic case of denialism.
Gandhi also said " When someone slaps you on one cheek, offer them the other cheek as well"...
here one thing to notice is he is not asking the person who is slapping to not slap rather he is asking the person who is at the receiving end of the aggression to not react..coz he believed in non violent resistance when faced with aggression...coz the other person who is already on path of violence wont stop at this point or care...
Gandhiji extended this thought process to communal tensions when he made that hindu muslim quote not realising the sensitivity around religion perhaps.. ..which can easily be and is always misinterpreted , and can be used to show he doesnt care about hindus...but compare both the quotes and you will get why he said it...yes it is not an easy quote to digest ..I mean non violence when someone is attacking you is not easy but if u genuinely give it a thought why it was said u will see the intention was not wrong ...
and why to reduce Gandhi to that one quote when he has many other quotes for us to guide us
but ngl this quote is easy tool to attack Gandhi every single time...overlooking every other teachings of him
it was an insightful piece

This is what happens when everything is not viewed as a whole....but one tiny part is used without the context.....
Politics runs on it.....taking out a portion that would seem totally wrong without the context....
2 hilarious examples that are used with glee by the opposition....
Modi saying....Main Pathan ka bachha hoon....😆
Rahul Gandhi saying ......idhar se aaloo daalo ...udhar se sona nikalo...😆
while both of them were quoting someone else....😆
moot point was to achieve independence..and CDM being a huge nation wide success and a credible movement..should have been cashed in on if it was bringing us closer to achieving complete independence..we don’t cut off our own family if they make a mistake..we scream at them inside the house..not in front of the whole world. Yes there were issues between Hindu Muslim even before..but it was nothing significant compared to what it was after the CDM..Jinnah used to oppose Muslim league formation..but his stay in England changed him or idk what..anyway he came back as some other 2.0 version of him. It was all about the timing..and why Gandhijee urged Indian soldiers to go and fight in the world war 2 for the brits..why not take a non alignment stand for them? That we will not support any country..what if we have boycotted then as well? My point is..no one is black or white..we are all in the spectrum of grey..including Gandhijee including Savarkar..I don’t endorse violence..I am not saying go and beat up every person out there..it’s just that nobody is willing to even listen to another POV anymore without getting labelled as such and such.
ok I get it ...yes he was very rigid and committed to his principles which I agree 100% but who wasnt ?The difference in ideologies of the leaders existed coz everyone thought my way is the best... so sooner or later it shows up...talking about CDM protests... even if it was his people who were engaging in violence for him, he could not support it...I can see where he is coming from when he did that..its like when someone from our family engage in violence...we condemn it..that must have been his thought process but it can ofc viewed negatively ..as I said before, it just requires one act of violence to turn everything into flames..so when I read about all these leaders I try to understand the bigger picture they were trying to achieve...and if we talk about CDM...we have to remind ourselves it all started coz of the salt taxes levied upon by the British..it became instrumental in our rebellion against britishers..it was necessarily not the movement solely started for independence but one of the attempts in exposing the britishers unjust rule over us...I dont fully believe that only suspension of CDM led to creation of muslim league by Jinnah... may be yes it gained traction...if not then in future these two leaders would have anyway separated coz their ideologies were vastly different....I mean it is highly possible even if CDM was not suspended Jinnah would have gone abroad for higher studies coz it was his personal aspirations... also the rise of muslim league is not that linear ..it was influenced by many factors i believe and communal tensions existed always even before CDM...i would say freedom was collective effort of all..we have to consider the role of other leaders example Bose ...it can easily be a endless discussion to and fro...
We are not currently living in that era or circumstances ..all we can do is analyze why they made decisions, their motivations and in doing so we have limitations to our understandings as we have to know all the multiple factors like british laws then, world war going on another side and so on....atleast thats what I try to do
CDM = civil disobedience movement ( to lazy to type it every single time)

Indians have the brightest minds......nothing mediocre about Silicon valley Techies....Sadly sometimes the brightest minds can also lack sympathy and empathy needed.
Don’t worry. The Silicon Valley is preparing the ground for brightest minds to fight amongst themselves. CA banega India. 🥳
Soon it will be knocking Texas ka door. 😆
