They had consensual...ab ho gaya haii. They could have show meerub feel awkward to face murtasim and murtasim comes and make things clearer that whatever happens he do not regret and he cherish it...make the situation softer and clam things down. And that how meerub's side of progressing we could see it.

They could have made this Mariam fiasco itself as the final seperation. Bringing in another twist wasn't necessary. They could have shown consummation before mariam elopement and then meerub leaving everyone would have been justified after being thrown out of khan mansion.

That would have been much much better than what shit they are serving..
