With decreasing TRP and the bashing both the characters received recently all over, they realised that showing Sai and Satya is probably their only way out for now.

But to keep Sairat relevant, they will now use the kids.

So the explanation will be sort of the children wanted their parents to unite and for that Sai sacrificed a good possibility.

I know it is not easy to break a relationship. Often times in my family I heard adjust karle, tu maafi mangle. Adjust karne se chota nahi hojaoge. Especially to women.
