Many viewers are not fools, they knew the main character was jealous because maya(and chavi) were getting popular so DKP was forced to make writers turn her into a psycho assaulter. They do this with every character who threatens main leads popularity
Anupama's emotional cheating with her ex again and again and again is ok i guess
