yes, people don't realize the power of listening. to be honest, we feel like we have to give advice or say something when people randomly download stuff on us. but sometimes well-meaning advice only hurts people -- it makes them feel like their pain is invalidated and no one wants to hear them out. that is the reason people don't open up and talk about their struggles. if you are told to 'just move on' - the underlying implication is that you are weak for letting it effect you.

in one of my favourite kdramas, the girl will ask her friend on how to deal with ML after his losses. the friend shares how he was simply present for a hurting friend as he didn't know what else to say and later the hurting friend said that was the most helpful. so that is what the girl does, at times, she literally says nothing while sitting next to him (while OST is being played) and at other times, she does it her style like give him the bitter truth as well forcing him to do stuff like cleaning the room to get out of the depressed vibe! 😆

so there is a time for listening, a time for tough advice and time for action.

so kushi, shimo -- I hear what you are saying that katha's advice giving is in line with her character and experiences. that makes sense. what I don't care for is the jump into advice. it feels like without building that kind of emotional connection between viaan and katha where she simply listens and hears his story, she is on lecture mode where she pops up for 2 minute lectures and then waltzes away. I guess the connection was supposed to be lonovala but it was all done too quickly. I don't know. like I said, there is a time for everything.

also, since they hardly show katha as vulnerable, it is hard to take her advice as well-meaning and instead it comes across as bashan like rsrockz said. there is a saying in tamil -- 'if you get a fever, you will know' - it means when people experience something similar, then they shut up with the unneeded advice and instead listen. till then, they give advice as a way of making themselves superior. katha is coming across as a typical FL in that way. 🤷

Yeah but as always I try to draw my POV as per character i mean not comparing it to my real throughts in my life or other stories i have witnessed

I think katha didn't come to advice viaan unless he told her to give him the edited AV along with the books about father or when he thanked her about her perspective for lonavala project

I mean he only gave her the space to illustrate her opinion and earlier she already knew about his trauma as she changed the AV

Based on all that she gave him the advice and without all these she wouldn't utter one word

But still don't think she does reach to the level you are talking about to be with him to support him without even talking about anything or to listen to his pain regarding his father in a way viaan talked to Ehsan

You know viaan stage of love is much deeper than hers that he could listen to her talking about adi or about her pain earlier without yttering one word (i think it's related to your raised good point here) but she still doesn't reach her

In the precap of today's episode she will be softer trying to give him some hope

As you noticed also katha gave some reactions then move backward the next scene when she felt her self wrong (she either apologized or when she refused to give him the AV then she returned back to talk to him) so i don't think she isn't vulnerable

Actually katha failed in many things in the show so i couldn't understand why they consider her like a complete winner or superwoman?

She failed to provide all the money for her son ending with ONS offer (another trauma)

She failed to manage dodo sons

She failed to gain reet as a personality

She fail as a mother in some occasions like attending important training sessions of her son

Or discovering the batman robin duo at least

She failed to move on from her dead husband and she is still traumatic about it.

I don't know exactly why you want her to be a failed person at many aspects just not to be typical female ITV charcater?! 😂😂🤔

People normally manage to achieve somethings in their life while fail at others and so is katha!

And about you said dear it's not a success in her life

All you mentioned is HELP to people

- Dodo who gave life to her son so normally katha will try her best to help her, in my mind that's the least thing she could do

- meera was the one to come to talk to katha more than one time and accidentally she knows about the man was yuvraj.

- And for viaan harrasement:

1. they chosed her to be the leader of the committee she didn't candidate herself becuase she knew she is supersmart woman

2. she was hesitated to accept initially superwomen are super confident in themselves.

3. And moreover she proved his innocence at the last second which to me a stupidity sign not smart one

She isn't supermom because if she was :

1. She would do all things on her own without falguni or dodo where in real life i have many friends who are either divorcee or widows who struggle each day to accomplish the work and home duties with more then one child and without being capable to have someone to help them

2. She missed the karate tournament of her child

3. When she collapsed in Adi scene the first thing she told him to prepare araav for school which gave indication how much this woman tired!

I agree with your POV as we both were on the same page from the beginning and my gripe of late has been about how CVs became lazy in their thinking ran out of ideas and hence started taking the convenient route of portraying FL as the all powerful advisor for ML.

I feel every character has their arc, liked yesterday(Thursday) episode. Because there's characters and story beyond these two which deserves to be heard. I felt they have shown that a bit.

About dragging, to me it's expected with a daily show and 20 minutes episode and maybe the show continue to near the end of the year as they said that's why they drag things while i myself don't find it like that as to me this part is bringing katha and viaan closer and here katha is the one who couldn't avoid being support to him with her words (what she could do)

The respectful distance and dignified viaan, well i think that very successful businessman is a must to be a successful man in your personal life

Even the initial viaan wasn't all well

Maybe he doesn't show that with his masked aggressiveness and rudeness and focusing on work more but actually he was the same sad person with difficulties (because he was avoiding to deal witg thus trauma NOW he wanted to handle it)

And as per the original, i don't think that professional therapist would be there for viaan becuase the core of the show is to evaluate the impact of katha presence in viaan life (i don't talk about reality) but for the ONS offer and relevation it's all about that (it's not about viaan alone and his journey to be treated) it's about katha is the one to heal him after his shock with relevation and afterwards

Even if many of you don't like that fact of the show but it's what been shown and will be the same till the end i guess.

Respectful distance for me is better here from original (where for example the male lead wasn't only staring at the FL but was constantly going to her house surprisingly manytimes and some of them with the excuse of fake work)

Now viaan is welcoming katha presence in his life and saying she was always helping him unwillingly and sge is the light to guide him so she doesn't invade his personal life irrespectfully

And that's how the lobe story would work because nothing in my himble opinion will get katha out from her comfort zone to remain as she is rather than viaan being in need to help or support

That's why i could see the show writing and how i'm enjoying it

And here i could find why many of you are pisssd off because you don't want it this way while i'm fine with it ❤️
