Nope. Just b/c he plays “a gay” doesn’t necessarily make him one. Never heard of him being gay, so AFAIK, he isn’t.
Yes it is. He played a gay man in some series.
Same-sex marriage would be included as Special Marriage act, right?
But would individual religions accept it?

Finally someone said it...🥳
I'm glad Bhumi spoke up. Kudos to her. But as pointed out, a lot of others have spoken up too. I was pleasantly surprised by Vivek Agnihotri, who has been a fanboy of the current regime, but good to see he has some ideals he sticks by.
Kangana is a wild card. She blows hot air in every direction she can.
There is a part of me disappointed in stars who have remained silent. But a larger part knows that they don't have an obligation. I am a whole lot more disappointed in the politicians and government as a whole.

Out of curiosity coz I haven’t come across as data as such. Does current regime opposes same-sex relations?
It was under the current regime that article 377 was decriminalized in India.

Nah, since the SMA has no impact on personal laws, the religious boards are free to not recognise it. CJI said it in the very first hearing.
This is where the main issue arises, aise sidhe jake court can't make an ammendment in the SMA as all this will in turn impact arount 100+ more laws/acts (I don't know the exact term).
Abhi kisi (say person A) ne SMA ke under same-sex marriage kar lia and then personal laws ke under hetero-marriage kar lia toh will it be considered bigamy?
Coz personal law ke under toh 1st marriage valid hi nahi hogi. Will the 2nd wife get alimony or not?
Who'll get Person A's property in case he/she dies?
Or who'll get the custody in divorce cases (usually mothers are considered primary custodian).
We have a lot of laws for protection of women in matrimonial cases. All of these will need ammendments.
CJI is jumping the gun here. This act needs to come from the legislature (which unfortunately I don't have high hopes from) instead of judiciary so that all these hiccups can be handled.
PS - I support same-sex marriage but I believe this should be handled by the legislature to prevent further mess. Otherwise there are more chances of backlash against the LGBTQ+ community.
Well to each its own. She wanted to speak on this and she did.
Not everyone is obligated to come out and speak about this but those who do we should appreciate. 😉
