Also with my limited knowledge of cooking, isn't using yoghurt for chutney will reduces it's shelf life? 🤔

Upar wala video and previous page pe link post kiya wo dekho. Yogurt last mein add karlo. baaki leftover chutney fridge mein store karlo😆

Hullo,

I need help. My younger brother literally woke up from a sleepy coma, scratched his stomach and requested me to make samosas with MINT SAUCE. Like who THEFEK does he think he is?

Anyway, I’m trying to make the Mint Sauce usually served with Pappadams or Tandoori Chicken at Indian restaurants. I’ve read a few recipes online and have watched a few youtube videos but I’m CONFUSED with some of the ingredients. The staple recipe online includes

  • Full fat yogurt
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Fresh coriander
  • Lemon juice
  • Garlic clove
  • Green chilli
  • Ground cumin
  • Salt
  • Sugar

However some recipes also include

  • Garam Masala
  • Chaat Masala

Now my question is … WTF do I do? To Garam Masala or to not Garam Masala? To Chaat Masala or to not Chaat Masala?

To keep this Bollywood related: SRK, Arjun Rampal, John Abraham, Hrithik, Aishwarya Rai.

Fresh Ginger, main ingredient along with the greens. And since this is mango season, you can replace lemon juice with raw mango.

Garam masala doesn’t belong in there. But chat masala is good.

It tastes good, those who can't eat much spicy chutneys can opt for this.. I had it at a resort in Diu, they served it with pakodas. It gives your chutney a nice consistency too. You do experiment with your food na, kabhi ye bhi karke dekhna..

Shelf life? Itna nahi socha baba! 😆 Kabhi bachi hi nahi, ki apni will mein add karne ka sochu..

Hahah so its just an add-on. Authentic chutney is Dahi-less.

Btw in Pudhiney ki chutney we also use amrud and coconut as well. 😆

To keep it bollywood related - Garam Masala had john too so you may wanna add it. Lol.

I agree with not adding chat masala or garam masala but ginger actually imparts a very good taste to the chutney, along with all the other ingredients mentioned in the post.

Though i usually avoid adding sugar.

Wese you are right though.. Fingu, in case you are making it to have it with samosas only then it's better to skip yogurt. But in case you can't eat spicy food, then you can go with yogurt.

I LIVE FOR SPICE 🌶️ I once went to an Indian restaurant and ordered Vindaloo and asked for extra spicy. The chef walked up to my table and told me that the vindaloo is already spicy and if I’m sure I want extra spice. I thought he was treating me like those westerners who find tomato sauce spicy and didn’t believe that I could handle spice, so I assured him I wanted extra spicy. This was no longer about the food anymore, now I felt challenged to prove him wrong. He once again asked if I was sure and I said yes.

Then came the extra spicy vindaloo. The chef literally stood in the corner with another serving staff and watched me eat. I looked him dead in the eye and finished the food with tears streaming out of my eyes, ears and nose. I finished the food and even had the audacity to comment that it wasn’t that spicy. Who TF do I think I am? Anyway I spent three days on the toilet seat burning calories. He’ll never know.

Story aside, I already have homemade chutney in the fridge (red chutney and green). I just like to dip one samosa in the chutney followed by dipping the other in the yoghurt chutney. I just need to make the yoghurt one right. 😆

I don't add ginger.

ginger is usually is good but not Necessary. My parents make it so l learnt it. We don’t add yogurt unless eating immediately.

Reason is shelf life is less.

Green chutney without ginger? Blasphemy!😳

Yes chaat masala is skippable, but it does add a good flavor.
