I never said that she's doing it to get Saif's love or to stand up for her. She's doing it to make her marriage work, just like most of our regressive dramas. You aren't watching Tere Bina Mein Nahi, but in that drama, Tehniyyat's storyline is somewhat like Samiya's. So that's what I said in my first post, from where this entire discussion started, that a flawed husband, and wife patiently trying to make their marriage work is one of the favorite themes in our dramas these days.

She has already gotten married to him out of her own will when she had a choice to do otherwise. So the only thing she can do is give it a try. It's not like she is hopeful or she has some false expectations from saif. She is ready to walk out if she has to.

Also the story is more about men being in abusive relationship. Saif is a victim not a predator that samiya need to be saved from. He is all the time either with his mother or his gf. Only a third person that can get on his personal life can help him out. So samiya being married to him is the most convincing way for him to have someone in his life that respects him and show him the difference and make him see his worth. It's not like samiya is reparing a bad boy by baring all his zulam on her and hoping he will come around. She is being a means to someone's freedom from oppression. She isn't repairing a flawed human being but helping a guy realise he is in an abusive relationship.

Every storyline that had a closure in the drama ended up being having a positive outcome. Saif and samiya's story is only half way through. So it cannot be said not to be progressive.

This entire thought of helping out a so-called victim man by marrying him, giving him respect and love, and repairing his broken soul by showing him his worth is regressive. Progressive thought is that "a wife is not a rehabilitation center for badly raised guys." Samiya chose this of her own will makes it even more regressive. If someone pushes you down the cliff or you jump yourself, the outcome will be the same.

Sajal is looking way too pretty in this drama

I found that asfar aaliya scene on table very adorable minus that weird laugh at the end.

Sajal and sheheryar suits each other so much aesthetic wise that it's hard to not like their scenes for me☺️

Salman deserves to sulk in the corner watching these two for his offensive behaviour towards aaliya and I'm glad aaliya isn't entertaining it at all😆

Aaliya is a queen for handling both asfar and salman in a dignified way.

She didn't marry him with these thoughts in mind. She had no intentions of being his saviour when she got married to him.

how is helping out someone in need regressive? If a guy marries a girl who has been in a abusive relationship and helps her overcome her trauma, will that also be regressive? If a guy marries a girl who don't know what self respect is and treats her with kindness and respect will that also be regressive? If a guy is decent towards a girl even after knowing she is in love with someone else and takes care of her as a husband, will that also be regressive or does that only make him a decent human being?

People in indian subcontinent get married to each other without liking each other all the time and there are guys that marries girls knowing they have boyfriends. It happens all the time. But that doesn't mean they should be stubborn and don't work on those marriages at all and should let it run its course and get a divorce. Nobody thinks i won't work on this marriage because it's regressive.

Yes, marrying a man who's already in a romantic relationship is regressive, and knowing after the marriage that he's still having seaside dates with that woman and still not taking any action is even more regressive. A progressive woman will never agree to such a match knowingly, and if somehow, she unknowingly puts herself in such a situation, she'll come out of it asap. She won't dedicate her life to fixing a badly raised guy to make that marriage work.

Yes, it happens a lot in the Indo-Pak subcontinent and that's why our dramas show these regressive stories in which a wife is considered a rehab center for a badly raised guy.

You said that Samiya didn't marry Saif with the thought of being his savior and she's doing so just out of kindness. You said Samiya doesn't want love from Saif. You said Samiya doesn't want Saif to stand up for her. So, Samiya has no expectations from this man and this marriage, and yet, helping him out as his husband is a charity case, not a life partner. Why is she doing all this? It only shows that she thinks that she and her life have no worth. If she had fallen in love with him and doing all of this then it would make some sense as love clouds your judgment. If she had no back and there was no alternative, then it would have made sense too. However, right now, it just shows her regressive mindset.

In truth, Saif doesn't deserve Samiya. He's a liar. He's a cheater. He's a two-timer. He's a coward. If he has some psychological problems, it's not Samiya's problem. She's a good girl and deserves a good life partner. Someone who gives her love, respect, and support. But no, in our society these kinds of men are given to women, and they keep trying to fix them to save their marriage their entire lives. And yes, despite being a cheater, liar, and two-timer, he's a good guy because he hasn't physically abused Samiya. Wow! Such low standards for a good husband. I can imagine a woman from 1930s saying "Doosri aurat se chakkar hai to kya hua, aaj tak mujh par haath nahi uthaya, dil ke bohat acchey hai munne ke abba" 😆

Not every decision someone makes can be categorised into regressive and progressive.

Shagufta is a strong minded financially independent woman that don't care about what society says about her. She is a strong progressive woman in that aspect. Her decision to play with the emotions of her boyfriend has nothing to do with a progressive or regressive mindset. It has to do with her nature of being a control freak and a dominant personality.

Likewise samiya's decision to get married to saif has nothing to do with her being a progressive or regressive woman. Like phupho said she grew up watching her mother getting blamed for having 3 daughters. If her mother gets some kind of relief by marrying her off she was ready to get married.

She is also not trying to make saif flawless. Her presence in his life is bringing the change in him. Samiya in general is a very compassionate, loving and caring person. She was the one that took care of Deepak when he came in first. She is simply living her life as herself and looking after saif and his mother the same way she used to look after her family. She isn't waiting for saif's mother's permission to start working on her jewellery. She does what she likes on her own. She don't need approval of someone else for that.
