Exactly. They don't spoonfed the audience everything but they show everything clearly with just one or two dialogues.

There is a scene of shammo touching samiya's feets and asking for forgiveness. So samiya will come back home. Maybe shagufta will do something and Saif will be too cowardly to take a stand and samiya decides to end it once and for all. Shammo will learn not to force her kids into anything after this.

I do wish to see probably an more in-depth conversation of Samia & Shammo tbh over forcing thing. The track does look predicted from how you've described it & given the fact that Saif and Samia have conversed in the past over Saif needing the man up and have clarity on what he wants thereby giving his & Shagufta a good closure.

Since saif is in dildara song we can predict that these two will end up together but i also wouldn't have minded samiya only helping him stand up for himself and then moving on in her life. I am fine with them going their separate ways as well as getting back together.

No matter what saif's mother says or how much saif try to tell her to bend in front of his mother she isn't doing that. She is fully capable of walking out of that marriage and house if she wants to. She don't consider this marriage is her only option. She got married simply to make her mother happy but she isn't gonna bend down and go against her principles for saif or his mother. By being patient she is testing the patience of saif and his mother. So whatever happens she won't be blamed by anyone. In a way samiya is smart and clever. If this marriage fails nobody can blame her for this.

Tanya said she likes the guts of shagufta and she likes her even though she knows shagufta is the gf. Same with Aaliya. She is only questioning saif for not making his stand clear and riding in two boats at the same time. All of samiya's family is asking for saif to take a stand. Nobody is bringing shagufta into it or blaming her as of now. Saif's mother is not a very sensible woman and she is capable of calling samiya and Saif names if she wants to.

As for society, it has always been unfair to women than men and thats why a lot of women fight against it.

What you wrote in bold is regarding the demand for a share in their house otherwise Samiya is silent in the matter of Saif's extra-marital affair. She calls Saif to ask him to come home and Shagufta told her that they're dating on the seaside, yet, Samiya maintained her silence. Her marrying Saif despite knowing that he's having an affair and living as a dutiful wife despite knowing that he's having an extra-martial affair is regressive. She ironing his shirt and saying I know its your favorite shirt as Shagufta has given you as a gift is regressive.

Again, what Tanya and Aliya said about Shagufta does not surprise me as they are progressive characters. Only Samiya's character doesn't gel into the storyline. Perhaps they're showing her as a 'different type of strong' as she's, as you said, testing Saif and Saif's mother's patience through her patience. However, this entire task is essentially regressive as Saif doesn't deserve this. He's a meesna who lied to Agha Jee that Shagufta is just a colleague and not his love interest. He also promised that he'll never do anything wrong to Samiya nor will let anyone else do it. However, after the marriage, he continued the affair and openly said to Samiya that don't expect any support from him.

I'm sorry to say, the drama and the other characters are very progressive but Samiya's character and her storyline are just like our typical regressive dramas. I hope they end it in such a way that it gives a progressive message. Samiya repairing Saif and living a happy life isn't progressive.

What else is samiya supposed to do? She got into the marriage being fully aware of saif and shagufta. She don't love saif either so she don't care if he is with someone else. Saif and samiya seems to be like friends rather than husband-wife. Samiya is someone that used to look after everyone in her house. So looking after saif and his mother don't really come under her trying to be a dutiful wife. She will do that for anyone. If she lived in a pg with many other girls we can totally imagine her being the one looking after the other girls. Her doin

Saif is someone that has been controlled and oppressed by his mother all his life. If you have a look, most kids that come from a controlling household tend to lie and do things in secret than other kids. Saif don't understand the basic fact that he deserves respect and equality in a relationship. We cannot expect a guy who has been treated like that for 30+ yrs of his life to suddenly grow a backbone and make decisions for himself and standup to shagufta and his mother. He cannot stand up for himself how will he stand up for samiya. Samiya also isn't expecting him to do so. She is saying there will come a point when he will have to standup for himself if not for her.

If saif was an emotionally independent strong guy who willingly chose to deceive a girl then yes what you said is absolutely right and the storyline is very regressive. But saif is a guy with no voice. The maximum he could do was run away with shagufta and he was ready to do that. At home he multiple times said he don't want to marry samiya but his mother emotionally manipulated him and forced him to go ahead with the marriage. If not samiya his mother would have found another girl but won't say yes to shagufta and shagufta won't agree to marry saif unless his mother agrees to it. What is he supposed to do in all this. He was literally in between the devil and the sea.

What else is Samiya supposed to do? Well, Samiya marrying Saif for the sake of her mother's happiness despite knowing about his affair is a regressive storyline that we have seen trillions of times in our dramas. No matter what she does now won't make it any less regressive.

As for Saif, no matter how his mother or Shagufa has treated him, his blatant lies to Agha Jee portray him as a meesna character rather than a victim. If he was a victim, he wouldn't have sounded that confident while telling all those lies.

It's a reality that a lot of women get married to guys they don't like due to family pressure. They are showing how to handle it after being in a situation like that. Showing something wrong as wrong is different from showing something wrong as right. In nowhere the drama showed what shammo did to samiya was right, or samiya's decision to go along with her mother's wishes as right. Both of them have been called out multiple times by every one else in that family. Samiya had every other person in that house standing beside her but she chose to go with shammo's decision. Like phupho said they cannot emotionally manipulate or force samiya like shammo does. All they can do is stand with her and support her and make her feel like they will have her back.

What else can saif do other than lie to aagaji? If he told aagaji the truth and they back off from the marriage, his mother will bring another girl in no time. The guy don't have the guts to stand up for himself so how is he supposed to tell the truth? In the last episode he was sweating and fumbling when shagufta threatened him. He is that much emotionally oppressed and vulnerable. With whatever courage he has he tried to avoid shagufta but that came backfiring at him.

Yes lots of women get married because of family pressure but those families have regressive mindsets. Samya's family isn't one of them, yet she choose to marry Saif which shows that she isn't a progressive character. These days when girls ask for divorce after the marriage if they know that they husband is having an affair, she choose to marry a man who is involved with another woman for her regressive mother's happiness. Reminds me of some 1930's movies. Yes, I can understand that they're showing that how to handle after being in a situation like that. But my point is that in progressive storylines, a female character never put herself in such a situation willingly so Samiya's character and storyline isn't progressive.

As for Saif, my problem is not just that he lied, my problem is the confidence with which he lied. He was so confident that he made even Agha Jee confused and doubtful of what he was thinking about him previously. And by the way, he was not fumbling and sweating at that time.

Shammo is not shown to be progressive from any angle. She has problem with all the three of her daughters. She is the typical over sensitive mother that things she has the right to emotionally manipulate everyone. To show empowerment they need to show regressiveness of the society and people as well. Not all girls are like Aaliya and tanya and phupho. There are girls like samiya as well. Their story should also be told. They are clearly showing samiya is encouraging saif to stand up for himself and not for her and she isn't doing that in the expectation of making him love her as she herself don't seems to love him. She don't need saif to stand up for her. She knows how to make her voice heard when she chooses it.

I didn't say saif fumbles and sweats all the time. I was speaking particularly about the scene from last episode. The fear and how much he is under her control were shown clearly through that scene. He is a guy double her size and she still manages to make him look too little in front of her.

As I said before kids like Saif are masters at lying when they want. I personally knows 2-3 of my friends that can lie perfectly and all of them come from strict and controlling households.

If every character is already empowered and knows what they want and don't make any mistake and are perfect what story will the drama tell? They need to show layers and development in characters for the drama to move forward. Aaliya even after being so smart and having experience at work chose to work for asfar even after knowing he is messed up simply because she needed as much money as she can. Even the smartest people make mistakes when they are under pressure. Salman even after being brought up by such a liberal and open minded mother makes his judgment get clouded due to his insecurities and jealous and fear of loosing Aaliya. For a 3rd person he is being a complete dumbass as he is making himself loose a game he could win easily. But he has abandonment issues and he don't have any assurance of Aaliya's feelings for him.

You're proving my point. Samiya isn't a progressive character and her storyline isn't progressive as well. She has willingly taken the task of repairing a flawed person. I never said that she's doing it to get Saif's love or to stand up for her. She's doing it to make her marriage work, just like most of our regressive dramas. You aren't watching Tere Bina Mein Nahi, but in that drama, Tehniyyat's storyline is somewhat like Samiya's. So that's what I said in my first post, from where this entire discussion started, that a flawed husband, and wife patiently trying to make their marriage work is one of the favorite themes in our dramas these days.
