Hey Arshi, hope you're well, I have several problems with Meerab character and let's forget her gender for a bit, only analyse the pathetic behaviour, because even if we switch the gender, that behaviour is problematic.
I am talking about well brought up people not just girls. Acc to me ppl from stable families without social or economic issues have the sense of belonging with family and hence value family members, forgive family members mistakes.
Meerab sees herself in victimhood prism and never gets out of it, she's not bothered about the aftermath of her actions. She didn't apologise either for her useless rebellion attitude during Naila episode or When she took the bullets out of Murtasim gun, his life was in danger due to her actions and she gave zero thought to that possibility. She preaches on individual liberties then why did she touch the gun which belongs to Murtasim.
Owning upto mistakes, is a sophisticated behaviour trait. Meerab was preaching murtasim about forgiveness then why can't she forgive her parents and move on with life. She claims to be interested in studying Law but she's so blind to perceiving the right and wrong. I can't imagine her succeeding professionally due to her apparent lack of brain cells. 🤣
Finally even murtasim got into the marriage half-heartedly only love happened to him later, but meerab has no growth at all because she is very selfish, can't think beyond her emotional turmoil and constantly feeling sorry for herself. On one hand she asserts her authority as a wife on Murtasim and yet flaunts the contract papers conveniently when needed. She made a man sleep on his couch in his own room, he didn’t offer her his bed, which shows her entitlement attitude. In this world all are made the same by god then why should she be treated exclusively. I think nobody should behave like Meerab these kind of plotlines only make such unruly behaviour justified.
I dont care about the gender difference between people beyond the very personal conjugal space. IMHO articles and generalisation theories on girls treated like this and that are there to only bring instant popularity to the writers and magazines.

Is this even a fair comparison in the first place?
And what exactly is the template for a well-brought-up girl? like her biggest mistake is that she didn’t fawn over her husband and cater to his needs like a typical wife.
Unpopular opinion: Meerab feels so real to me and I totally get her! I teared up for a desi fictional character for the very first time in my life! Zaidi’s performance today evoked such powerful emotions in me. Thanks to the TB crew for giving Me and Mu, these 2 will always hold a special place in my heart!
This was a good read-
