The background for this one shot is a possible future scenario…..
Katha and Aarav has come to know that Viaan and Robin is the same person…….Katha knows she has feelings for Viaan but hasn’t acknowledged yet…Mr Garewal is yet to accept Viaan.

Viaan closed his car door and ran towards the lift..He was impatient.....He just wanted a glimpse of Katha …Not seeing her face in the morning had made him restless...To hell with these meetings..He had a meeting with corporation authorities on clearance of a site under construction..He wanted to end the meeting in one hour and rush to his office but it got extended and now it was already noon and he had not seen Katha yet!!!
Viaan had deliberately started maintaining distance from Aarav and Katha...After he came to know that Batman is Katha’s son Viaan thought Katha would misunderstand him. Although she assured him that she knew it was just a coincidence, he felt like he had put her on a tough spot, so had distanced himself from both Katha and Aarav . With Katha he just maintained professional relationship...He was content..that he could see her from afar…that he could see her smile daily…that she would talk to him with no prejudices…rest he left to fate...With Aarav he came clean…Aarav was shocked but when Viaan explained to him that Aaravs friendship mattered to him more than Kathas love Aarav understood viaan….Aarav was very mature for his age…So when Viaan realised that Aarav did not want a father figure in the family he withdrew…he stopped going to gym..fearing that meeting him daily may lead to Aarav accepting him one day …He wanted Aarav’s approval but he wanted Kathas acceptance too..He feared Aarav might pressurise Katha due to his fondness for Robin..So to avoid any further discomfort to both the people he loved the most, Viaan distanced himself from them…without making it obvious…Aarav would message him now and then on random things but their meetings became less frequent.
He hurried up the lift..He just wanted one glimpse of Katha to feel energised again after that very long meeting . The lift stopped at his office floor but as soon as he stepped into his office he realised that Katha was not there..he always felt her presence before he saw her…To not make his disappointment very obvious he went up to his room immediately…He did not mind others knowing his love for Katha but again he did not want to put Katha in a difficult spot..He smiled to himself..What a change Viaan Raghuvamshi…thinking of other peoples' comfort before his own….
He took the intercom right away and called Jenny..” Where is Ehsan Jenny? Any meetings? I see that both Ehsan and Katha are not in their rooms”…
”Sir Woh Katha got a call that her son collapsed at his school..She was literally shivering after the call. So Ehsan sir took her to the hospital “. Viaan realised that he was also shivering…My Batman … What has happened ??
He rushed out of the office towards the lift..
He sped his car to lifecare hospital..He remembered the time when Katha was painfully recollecting her hospital experiences with him outside the labour room..On reaching the hospital he once again rushed out..After enquiring Aarav’s whereabouts he ran to the ICU…He saw Mr Garewal and Yuvraj standing in one corner..looking shattered …Dodo was sitting and weeping on a chair around the corner..
” Neerja ji what happened to Aarav? Where is Katha? “
“ Viaan …Aarav fell unconscious at school..He was not feeling well for the past few days..My baby would never complain fearing that we would restrict him from going to school…Doctors fear that there is a relapse of his earlier illness” ..Neerja spoke while weeping..” Viaan , Katha is in a shock..she has not responded after talking to the doctor..Viaan mujhe dar lag rahi Hain”
Viaan patted neerja on her shoulder and said “ don’t overthink.. Just imagine ,what would Aarav feel when he see his dodo crying. So please stop crying.. where is Katha?”
“On the other side of the corridor..I could not manage to look at her..so I came and sat here”.
Viaan ran towards where Katha was sitting with her mother in law..Mrs Garewal was crying..Ehsan stood a few feet away from them..He looked grimly at Viaan and shook his head hopelessly at Katha’s state..Viaan tried to control his tears..Katha looked broken but her face did not reflect any emotion..She just sat next to Kavitha without moving or looking at anybody…
Ignoring the grim look of Mr Garewal Viaan sat on his knees near Katha’s leg
“Katha”…he called..” look at me please” When he did not get any reaction from her Mrs Garewal started to weep loudly.. “ Viaan…please do something..she is not reacting”
“Aunty please calm yourself…everything will be fine..AAP thoda courage rakho”…then he turned again to Katha
“ Katha remember the time you talked about how Aadi took care of you and Aarav after his birth..how he would hold the baby all night..how you could not help but fall in love with him more and more each day…just think about Aadi..what he might be feeling now seeing you giving up on his son…Katha, you are a strong woman..you could bring Aarav back from death once..then why are you giving up so easily? Just imagine all the pain you once went through to emerge victorious and now look at you…you are failing Aadi Katha…you are giving up…katha you are better than this…
He saw a single tear drop from Katha’s eyes.She looked at him through her tears..” Viaan ..she murmured “ mein aur nahi seh sakthi…I feel totally drained out and helpless ..…why is god repeatedly punishing me…what have I done to deserve such pain? My bachcha..my monkey..please usko bachalo Viaan…ek baar aap ne aap ke paison se uche bachchaaya..iss baar aap apne pyaar se usse bacchalo..please..”
She leaned on his shoulder like surrendering all her pain to him.
He held her close” Kathaa ..see, you are not alone in this battle…you have everyone around you..if you could fight alone and win last time this time we won’t let you fail….iss baar humm sab Hain..Hain na? “
He straightened her and stood up froms his kneeling position..He sat next to her on the other side of the seater and held her with one arm around her..she kept her head on his shoulder…..Ehsan bought a cup of tea for Katha…She declined..but on Viaan’s insistence she took two sips…he passed the cup to Ehasan who threw it in the dustbin and sat next to Viaan.”.
“Bhaai I know you are also worried about Aarav..please don’t crumble ” …Viaan looked at his friend with love…What would I do without this unconditional support!!!
One person was watching intently what transpired between Katha and Viaan..He felt guilty..Mr Garewal could not help but notice how Viaan mentioned Adi’ s name to Katha without any remorse .He could see that Viaan respected the love between Katha and Aadi or else he would not have brought up Aadi’ s name to derive a reaction from Katha..He was also shocked to know that it was Viaan’ s money that saved Aarav earlier.
After about an hour doctor Aman came out of the ICU searching for Katha…Katha was lying with her head on kavitha's lap She stood up abruptly seeing the doctor. She stumbled on the sudden movement ..Viaan who was talking to Ehasan ran to her side and held her.
“ Doctor, Aarav”..she cried…
”Katha …what is this? Are you the brave woman I knew before? See I have seen you battling alone last time..now you have friends and family around you..please calm down…There is nothing wrong with Aarav.its not a relapse….It’s a case of dengue..his platelets had come down…hence the fatigue…we need your permission to start the treatment for increasing platelets . ..he will be ok within a week.”
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief…Katha was feeling giddy with her relief…Mr Garewal thanked Dr Aman..”Can we see him doctor”…
”No you cannot go inside the ICU..but he will be shifted to his room in ten minutes..you can visit him there but be careful..dengue is transmitted through mosquitoes..so take necessary precautions…
Ten minutes later everyone crowded Aaravs room…he was waking up from his sleep..he saw his mamma ,Dodo, Dadaji, dadiji and Yuvraj chachu around him.
” Mamma what happened to me? Phir se cancer aaya kya”
“ No monkey cancer aapse dar kar hamesha keliye bhaag gayaa..this is just fever” Katha looked fondingly at her son
“Oh ok Mamma …Robin nahi aaya? Aapne Robin ko nahi bathaaya mere baare mein?” Katha moved her glance towards the entrance of the room where Viaan was standing with Ehsan
“Robin”…Aarav used all his strength to call Viaan…”mere pass aaonaa” …when Viaan went near his bed Aarav pulled Viaan to him and hugged him tightly. “Robin mere paas hi raho..aapse door hokke mujhe acha nahi lagtha hai…when I was in ICU ,I was sure ki AAP mujhe kuch hone nahi doge”
Viaan smiled through his tears…”Robin ke hothe hue aapko kuch bura nahi hoga”..Viaan kissed Aarav on his forehead and tried to stand up but Aarav would not let him
“ Dada, dadi chacha dodo ..please you people should not worry..Robin will not let anything bad happen to me and Mamma”.
Mr Garewal came near Aaravs bed and said .”.Haan beta…we have come to realise that..your Robin is very powerful…he will look after you ..the way your papa would have cared for you…he will keep you and Mamma very happy”.
Viaan somehow let aarav free him from the hug and stood back…”Sorry uncle…i was worried for them…..i had not meant to annoy you in any way”.
“Nahi beta , sorry tho hamein maangni chahiye..the way I treated you earlier…but now I know my Aadi was giving me some signs all along to accept you as my son in law..Hein na kavitha?” He looked at his wife”only if I had listened to you earlier”
Kavitha smiled through her tears…”Kailash a mother’s instinct is always right…I knew Viaan is perfect for our Katha and Aarav”
Viaan looked at Katha…She was sitting with her face down..he could not read her face…Ehasan looked happy though…”Come papa we will wait outside.”.Yuvraaj urged everyone…”Let aarav be with his mama and Robin for a while”everyone moved outside..
Viaan looked at Ehsan with some apprehensions…all the best baai..he mouthed and went out
Katha ?? Viaan called …
She did not look up…”Katha I am sorry…I did not want to put you in a difficult spot…see when I heard Aarav was sick all reasoning left me..i could not control my actions seeing you in such a state ..i did not think that you were with your in laws before holding you…I am sorry..mujhe ek baar apna Batman ko dekhna thaa…and bus make sure that you were ok.i will leave once he falls asleep”
“ Nooo.. Robin you cannot go ..mein aapke saath iss hospital bed par Sona chaahtha hoon…last time I saw one of my hospital mates sleeping with their father on this bed…from then I wanted to cuddle with my pappa…jho AAP hein”
Viaan couldn’t resist his tears this time…he sat down on the bed and hugged aarav…”Batman I will sleep with you but don’t call me your father..i would love to be your father cause you are the best beta anyone could have..but see your mother ..woh aapke pappa ko abhi tak bhoola nahin…you should not put pressure on your mother ..It’s her choice”.
Katha had her doubts when Viaan had started maintaining his distance..Now she was sure he did for her sake…She could not understand how this man can love her so deeply…He keeps her and Aarav above everything.. The man who was full of himself was now so selfless in love that he can go to any length for her happiness ..how can I not fall in love with him…his touch and loving words are the only things I crave now…how long will I be able to resist this feeling ...how can I not want to drown in those eyes…which looks at me with so much love and hope….
Katha was suddenly brought of her inner turmoils when Aarav called her out..
” Mamma please tell Robin that I am not pressurising you…that you too want Robin with us…I know mamma AAP mere wajah se Robin ka pyaar accept nahi kar Rahi hein.bolo na maamaa…
Katha looked at Viaan…He looked distraught. She knew the reason..He wanted her to accept him whole heartedly..not just for Aarav.
Sje turned to Aarav..”Monkey….your Robin can read everyone’s mind except mama’s”.
“ No mamma he can read your mind too”
” Then why is he not understanding what mama wants .Aapko, dada daadi ko, Ehsan uncle ko..sabko pathaa hein mama loves him…but he doesn’t …yeh kaisa power hain? “
Viaan turned to Katha abruptly……
“Do you? “
“ What "Katha asked …
” No..do you really love me?
“No” she said looking at him playfully ..” I love Robin”
The look on Viaan’s face was priceless…”Kathaa are you sure?”
“ Nahi Mr Raghuvamshi…I am confident that I love you..i want you in my life..i want Aarav to have you in his life..i have never been sure of anything else…I do really love you. I love you Mr Khadoos Raghuvamshi”.
