I have seen all from your to be watched list.. all were good... I personally enjoyed Dosti and Piya ka ghar the MOST.
I would VERY STRONGLY recommend you UPHAAR of Jaya Bachchan, it's a true poetry in motion, flawless beautiful film.
Another GEM which I missed in my early post is DO AANKHEIN BARA HAATH from the great v shantaram (not the 90's Govinda's trash.. lol)
Oh yes, how can I forget.. Uphaar was beautiful ❤️
Jaya Bhaduri should have continued to act more. She was such a natural!
Actually there are many more that I love but those were the ones that were at the top of my mind.
I have loved most of Guru Dutt, Basu Chatterjee, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Shyam Benegal and Satyajit Ray's works.

Yes Jaya Bhaduri's most films from 70s were excellent, simple yet amazing.. no one could have portrayed the simple closer to the life roles like Jaya.
Uphaar was a gem.
I am glad u liked shyam benegal and satyajit ray's works.
Shyam Benegal's suraj ka satvaan ghoda was such a unique film showing same scenes and same dialogue from the perspective of various characters in the movie repeatedly, happened only in one of the European movie as an experiment.
Satya Jeetray was a pure genius.. his appu's trilogy is my absolute favorite work of him, also agantuk and few short directorials of him.
