I think like the national flag, the pronouns could be displayed with the accounts, with the choice of people want it to be displayed or not and in the notifications, pronouns can be shown, but if people choose to hide it, they/them can be shown (it's one of the gender neutral Pronouns, plus, when we don't know someone's gender, we actually say, they, so it makes kind of sense)
It's a general presumption that the members are female (unless their UNs/DPs suggest so) and offensive is not adding the feature, but when someone just assumes someone's gender because they don't have all the information needed.
Adding that feature also will be a good look on the site. Zoom and Instagram(in few countries) have that feature too. There is nothing offensive in asking what someone would be preferred to be called, it's basic manners in 2023.
