Sar-e-rah got good recognition and views. Kuch Ankahi has so many tracks and the focus is not on the main leads. And I feel people like to watch love stories. Both TB and MPHT focus on love story. They have expectations from the dramas and watch in hope of getting the expectations fulfilled.

@Bold: Yes, Meerab's character is different. If they had put some concentration on the character development and like you wrote focused on her POV, it would have been so good.

Basically it depends on the brought up and life experiences. If a woman is brought up in a conservative family where a man's word has so much of weightage, she grows up thinking that a woman should always listen to a man. But if the brought up is done in a liberal family, a woman thinks of equality. So the clash of ideologies happens. And growing up the thinking changes when they see the real life.

The discussions that we had here, I could tell the audience here are very well read and open to many things. People here have watched masterpieces like fight club, sixth sense, momento, prestige, all the classics. People here have read English classics like weathering heights, desi literature and what not. These lunatic ladies have not read or seen 1/4 th of what we experienced.

We criticize in a logical way and provide reasons while they just make personal attacks or give dumb reasons to dislike

Honestly amna is very intelligent and her and Hassan are respectful. They told us midway that they'll do almost roast like review of the drama because of poor writing. They're both wonderful. The rest are not critics. They just talk to fill time and sound like idiots 🤣

The audience are a variety. They like different things. People respond well to good things as well. Why don't these people and their production house bosses take initiative to reduce dumb work? Then people will choose from more of the logical/good story work. If you have tools and power to produce and bring change then everyone should question you. Log Kiya kare. I see their point of the audience being not very bright since the popularity of khanni and kaisi Teri khudgarzi is a proof but unlike these so called content creators or writers or production houses no one in real life will do dumb unbelievable antics that they write and produce 😆 they write scenes defying gravity in a non fiction drama 🤣

Twitter paraphrased and grotesquely twisted her words. I encourage people to go to diva mag or her ig handle directly.

I initially thought this was from the usual comment from the review show of Nadia atiqa show. And they always do that. This is actually not that.

When she said audience were stupid, she clearly mentions a director telling her that when she presented him with a logical script. She rather argues that they're not all stupid. She somewhat rightly chides women who unfortunately are the majority watchers of toxic dramas.

Only thing I'd disagree is when there is so less og content, when there is so less good content produced and women in Desi setting experiencing difficult situations, dramas with medium fantasy provides escapism. We're also lucky to have that privilege of being educated and using our critical senses. Many many women do not get that opportunity due to unfortunate life conditions and oppression. I assume we have to be kind and reflect before we call audience "stupid". They never had a chance for anything different.

Any thoughts? This is just a reflection for me and a musing and a rant 😆
