Taking nothing away from Ranveer. I objectively do feel Vicky was the smartest choice. But I am not their consultant.

Big budget commercial films are complicated. Pathaan was an anomaly, and getting people of all ages into the theaters has become more and more difficult. It would be very hard for Ranveer to carry this film, but if it's 'multi-star studded' ... It could possibly 'squeak-out' reasonable returns.
