I don’t think Meerab is written is badly as people think. She’s strong and stubborn, that’s who she’s always been. Her whole story played out in front of us. We got such insight into what is driving her to behave the way she is. I’m not saying she’s always right in her actions but I understand where she’s coming from. In contrast, we haven’t had the same insight into Murtasim’s past. I know they said they will get into it but besides him saying that he made some sacrifices, we have nothing else. We know that Meerab has always wanted to be a lawyer, she wasn’t interested in getting married anytime soon and had pride of being the apple of her father’s eye. Everything changed for her so we see can understand her point of view. Do we know why Murtasim fell for Meerab so hard, why he emphathizes with her? What made a feudal lord so understanding and caring? We’ve all had to guess for that as well. We have heard Meerab’s internal dialogue initially when Murtasim gave her the book, I think she said that she wasn’t going to fall for his words. She didn’t trust him at that point . Even now, when Rohail says that Murtasim doesn’t love her and it’s all about his ego and pride, she seems to pause and consider his words. The only thing that Murtasim is doing is declaring his love to Meerab and anyone else who will listen. Meerab isn’t doing that because she isn’t there yet. I get frustrated with her at times too but I think it makes her character more interesting. It’s nice to see a FL who stands up for herself and isn’t a doormat without being considered a villain. Yes we can question her actions but in the end everyone is still rooting for her. I personally think her character is fleshed out more than Murtasim’s at this point.
Loved it 👏👏
