After becoming a Kapadiya, Anupama wasn't in a vulnerable position...She was in position of power and was 100% responsible for her own decision and chose Shah family out of her own free will. So Anupama is a bigger culprit party while Shahs themselves are no saints.

She is very chaloo. She knows which orders to take and which to deny. That vile lady did not want her to marry Anuj. She fought with her and even took her curse but at that time she found it in herself to deny her. The only reason I can think of is she really did want to marry him.. let’s not go the reasons. But other times people come up with insane excuse that she is conditioned in that way and shit. Where was that conditioning when she jumped the wall to go to the meeting? Where was that conditioning when she went against everyone and proposed him. Selective conditioning huh?

Imagine if the roles were reversed and Anupama was the one begging Anuj to prioritize their marriage and child and then they lost their child? Goodness knows what sort of uproar there would have been, and endless songs about maa ki mamta and her pain, etc. He would have been called abusive, people would be baying for his blood and asking Anupama to leave him (or kick him out of her house). Double standards everywhere.
