I have feeling that Kathaa will go to Keith because when Viaan mentioned his name she was shown thinking about something . Since they know each other may be she will bring him into picture.
She has her inner turmoil but I feel somewhere she wants Viaan to be proved innocent
Her experience , anger , confusion on other side .
I am glad that someone else shares the same perspective. It wasn't a great episode excluding the imaginary scene where Viaan talks to Katha but the episode was required.
The show is mostly seen from Viaan's perspective. We rarely get to know what's going on within Katha. I think that that will happen during a confrontation with Viaan. We are lucky that Aditi is such a fab actor that we know from her expressions when she feels doubtful, conflicted, and overwhelmed.
On moral grounds, she should not have been the Head of this committee but subconsciously she needed to be part of this process. I don't know how to convey this but Viaan and her had to be at opposite ends of this situation to face what had happened to them. Shamita's case is an excuse to go through this.
Shamita's situation is like an opportunity to kaviaan to live vicariously through it and analyse their own feelings.
They needed this confrontation.

some dizis I enjoyed and would recommend beside siyah beyaz ask.
#1 kara para ask -- it was in netflix (not sure if still there) and was split into 30 min episodes. so I ended up watching one episode over a few days. took me a few months to finish. 😂 but yea, good stuff and I stayed through the end!
#2 sen anlat karadeniz -- it is a very serious theme but very well executed. even though it has a serious theme at the centre, it is more about family bonding and there is plenty of comedy to lighten it up. what stands out to me besides the great BGM is how the location (the black sea region) feels like a character in and of itself and how it adds some interesting cultural as well as mood elements to the drama.
#3 yargi -- am still in the middle of watching it but so far so good. set in the legal world and there is constant question of what is justice and judgement.
P.S -- just as a side note, I was fascinated that ask means love in turkish. basically it is a variation of the word ishq. so which language borrowed from whom? one of the pleasures of watching turkish dizis is finding those random cultural shares and having history come a bit alive in some ways.

yup, it is not coming across that way at all which is why we are having a disconnect. katha should be having internal conflict and other than her initially talking to neeraji, we don't see anything of her thoughts. so rather than showing how she is all over the place, it looks like she is being self-righteous.
this is high live wire type situation. we should be on the edge of our seat worrying about what will happen to viaan just like ehsaan is. however, I feel detached. actually I thought a few times whether to put off watching the episodes and this has been my mood every day this week.
viaan is in the fight for his life in some ways. this isn't some small matter. his honour and integrity is questioned and there will be ripple effects for life in all aspects of his personal and professional life. so this isn't the type to have subtle and muted scenes. it needs to be emotional and we need to feel the urgency. without EK type techniques, a simple way to do that is to have that kind of melodramatic music which adds those feelings.
am not having enough music knowledge to explain myself well but world over, we can recognize happy music, easy listening, sad music and high voltage type music and we don't need to know the lyrics or the culture or the context of the scene. we can tell just by the notes, the spaces between the music notes (speed) and how the instruments are played. the music they have chosen feels easy listening music -- reminds me of walk in the hills after the rains -- type mood. it is not emotionally dramatic. there are no ups and downs and no speeding up and slowing down -- it needs to convey an internal battle. when we have that kind of background music, we immediately feel the drama.
you can have softer more easy type listening music but you still need those ups and downs to convey drama. then that creates a more melo feel. that is missing. if we had that, then we would know how difficult this is for katha without even hearing her thoughts. we can't have subtle muted scenes with music that sounds like quiet time mood. subtle muted romance works when it is set in the middle of the storm -- that makes it more dramatic.
am thinking of BGMs like these that add drama....
May be makers relying more on Adnan Aditi's acting talent rather than using music to highlight a situation.
And both of them are fabulous actors, they are doing great job also.
Tbh, I dont like louder bg music in crucial scenes much, just subtle music is enough. Acting, expressions should bring out right kind of emotions because its always actor who make that connect with viewers not the music or set or costumes. If you have watched Pakistani drama zindagi gulzar hai, you will get my point. They didn't use any background music yet people could connect to the main characters, their dilemmas and conflicts and actors portrayed it well too. Previously also bg music didn't play much role in serials or even in movies.
It started from EK shows and they took it to another level, almost to rhe point of abusing it. In shows like kyunki, kasam se etc there used to be so much dhoom tana nana, mantra chanting, copyright of songs were brought to continue playing ot with changed lyrics which suits to particular situation and lots of camera effects that 80% of acting was extracted out of it and remaining from makeup jwellery costumes of actors. The actors literally had left with nothing to offer besides standing at one place totally expressionless.
But yes I agree on how music when used at right place can create altogether a different experience and elevate the scene qualitative. Who can forget iconic bombay theme tune by AR rehman which is used till today at many places to highlight emotional scenes.
So yes, music highlights emotions but I would like KA makers to use it very cautiously to highlight kaviaan scenes and not like EK to make mockery of them.
I feel if Katha was on the other end of the table, she would tactically handle it by not mentioning the ONS. If she mentioned Vian’s proposal, she will have to answer so many questions as to why no complaint, why she’s still there, why she went to Dubai and Lonavla with Viaan? She’s too smart to put herself in a situation like like. I also don’t want her to act entitled to judge Vian now she’s assigned the job with out thinking rationally!! She has to keep the ONS aside while talking to the employees . Here she’s thinking about it every minute which is frustrating us and thus justifying Shamita’s statements….She thus far has been really performing poorly in the committee along with the others there….
Honestly when I mention she should not be on this side of table I am not concerned about what situation that will put Vian into and same goes for Katha
I am just talking about what is unfair of a trial it is.
A jury member cant and should not be emotionally weak like her to get triggered by whatever was being said.
If she was on other side of table she would have to reveal about her experience, it would have been tough for her with people judging her and all but isn't it the scenario the people indulge in #Metoo go through .

I was so irritated with Katha in the precap when she asked Viaan about whether he had given this ONS proposal before!! I mean, no one is excusing Viaan of his past problematic actions. But it makes absolutely no sense for her to ask him that question during the interrogation, in front of others.
Like come on, do you REALLY want him tell the truth? Cause if yes, then even your involvement in the ONS will be revealed. And I'm pretty sure she doesn't want that. But if Viaan lies, for her sake actually, then he will be perceived as a liar for Katha. There is no way out in this.
We can understand what she might be going through but then katha should not have been so mahaan and accepted to preside committee.
It was so stupid to ask viaan that question. And she comes across as very shrewd and selfish like this.
What you said is so right, there is no way out of it. Means as long as Viaan's reputation is getting tarnished, she has no problem but the moment her name will come she will cry foul and label viaan as disgusting man. Such double standards.
I really want viaan to stop following her like lost puppy after this track is over. Now she should make some efforts to mend things.

He didn't help to save her son's life. He paid for ONS without knowing.
Katha sold her marriage ring, did the shopkeeper also helped her. NO.
But that money did save her son's life. And if his pigheadedness had not provoked him to ask for ons then probably aarav would have died.

Then I would say it is Viraj money, Viaan become the CEO because of nepotism. He is not half talented as Katha.
I have a different opinion about Viaan piggy backing on Viraj’s success. They showed that Viraj died when Viaan was still a teenager and Ehsan’s dad was a partner on the business side just like Ehsan. I would like to think on Viaan’s defense as to how he helped bringing the company back up after he became an architect. He was running the company successfully before Katha’s arrival. Katha being an award winning architect was definitely a bonus. I wouldn’t want to think of her as irreplaceable, that’s why I want the makers to show other talents in the company like Rewa who’s supposedly managing a project alone in Singapore rather than revolving around just Katha making it feel like the company will be in shambles if Katha left. No company will work around one employee, every body is replaceable…Originally posted by: Neutral2
