He has just become a poor man's Doshu. Since, the latter is incapacitated, someone has to step up and say the cringe, meaningless dialogues so maybe the useless son comes good now.

Ikr plus when we had the old Samar he actually told Anupamaa in one of the previous episodes that she should ensure that she spends time with Anuj and not get too overly involved with the Shah's. I swear this family flips more than breakfast pancakes

But then again Baa has the right to insult anyone as she is Baa

Also do the makers not know what to do with Samar anymore, he went from his mom's supporter to her minion, to a love-sick puppy to Dimpy, to whatever today was. Like he was the mature one right... it was him who made his overreacting mum realize that Anuj's feelings for her aren't wrong and for the most time he has been rationale so why did he jump the gun today. This and the break-up with Nandini (infact his love story with her and Dimpy is cringe) but yeah the writers don't seem to know where to take him.

Also Samar buddy if you really love Dimpy you should know that Anuj is the only one that supports him and not even his Maa
