But the writer seemed aware of her limitations to me somehow. She is a script writer writing OTT filmy scripts and not a novelist, in her words.

While women like her do have a limited vision, and put women into boxes rather than going deeper into their flaws, this drama was never going to be go that way.

Such dramas are written and made for entertainment. Yes, not taking away from the immense loopholes, flaws in writing. And the tunnel vision they have in penning their female characters.

But imagine if the audience did not lap it up, but they did. All of us did.

Everything fiction has an audience for it.

Comparing Nooran to Umera or Austen, would be like comparing Austen and Emily Bronte's works to Sophie kinsella's chicklits or the hundreds of fluffy romance books that get published today.
