Maybe its dirctors fault. I haven't watched much shows of Nadeem Baig. But even Sinf -e-ahan and pyare afzal I found boring and left midway.

Some dialogues are not very heavy but heavy to the point that I feel its very forced. I guess that might be the reason.

Its not a bad show. I would say good. But not as good as I had expected it would be.

Compared to other recent dramas i found the dialogues of kuch ankani good. Bilal and sajal's characters even though fight they never uses very harsh words for each other and neither of them scream their lungs out to make a point. Their hate relation is very real unlike the usual Tom and Jerry couples. In real if there are two people of opposition sex have fiction they will be behaving more like Aaliya and Salman than arsal-jiya or murtasim-meerab or shehroze-ushna. They never bring up their families or their upbringing into their fights. The drama also subtly hints at their connection really well. Aaliya is never shown to be too proud to take help from Salman and Salman is never shown to leave Aaliya alone when she is stuck in the middle of the road when her car breaks down. Infact Aaliya behaves like it's Salman's responsibility to fix her car and she was mad that one time he didn't get out of his car to help her. Now that car thing is getting applied to their personal life. Aaliya never refuses salman helping her family when needed and Salman is always there when she need some consoling. Aaliya is shown to be independent and held strong but doesn't come off as arrogant or 'i know it all' or flag barer of women empowerment. Salman i think is one of the greenest green flags in pak dramas. He is exactly what's called a decent human being.

You addressed it well, Simple words main bolein toh inhoney Sarey genres ko Ek saath jhapaa paa liya hai 😂

They are trying to give so much content with huge cast, in a single show with snail's pace, actually we are not used to it. They don't solve one matter, and bring another one. Aisa lagta hai khichdi machi hai.

I really wish they will handle this drama well, I still have some hopes.

This many cast and storyline can work only for Turkish dramas because they have a run time of 2-2 and a half hours per episode and atleast 20episodes. So they have more than enough screentime to compensate each and every character and still give a good amount of screentime to the leads as well.

This looks like they combined stories of two dramas into one.

But keeping that aside now that I have started liking more than half of the characters i am not getting frustrated by the lack of screen time for Aaliya and Salman. I really enjoyed the last episode.

Frankly I don’t know why we find it hard to reach a “don’t like it, don’t see it” attitude ..but that said, of course this is a forum and honestly these kind of discussions tou hona hi hai. Lekin I am always fascinated by the need to validate or invalidate…I guess social media is running on this basic urge that exists in all of us.

End of the day, everyone doesn’t have to find everything entertaining and if we knew why we liked something, it would have been bottled and sold for a lot of money. Some shows get popular with time, they become cult hits - relying on majority opinion. For some people, some shows are personal, they get better with time - relying on personal opinion/taste.

One’s average is another’s diamond and vice versa. I am loving this show, it’s my sukoon. I am enjoying tere bin too, which is frankly for me its writing is super average. But one thing I have realized, somehow in shows like this, we expect perfection, we are willing to give very less margin, whereas in OTT dramas, we are very comfortable in excusing the most problematic situations.

In the large picture, this is a show I would give a chance to again and again compared to say a Qalandar which has 10 times more views than Kuch Ankahi. Lekin that’s my personal choice. Matlab after some time, what’s the point of the personal vs popular battle?

I was expecting something like the Ramadan shows such as Suno Chanda, Chupke Chupke, Chaudry and Sons, even Ishq Jalebi etc. in which there are lots of side characters and their storylines but the main focus is on the romantic lead. The ratio of the screen time between them is also accordingly. However, in Kuch Kankahi, the romantic lead characters are like the side characters.

everyone is a side character. In fact the poster is exactly everyone not standing or sitting straight..slightly sideways. 😆…

The fact is romance sells, episode 10 has more than 1 million views because of the release of the new ost, which is romantic.

You might be right. Chemistry cannot go backwards. If they were so good in rungreza how they are not in this show😭. After waiting for so long to see them together, i am so disappointed. 😭.

Not saying the show is bad. It just doesn't have that hook factor me and most likely its not me as the view has been continuously decreasing. Also honestly for me Aliya waiting for salman to repair for me doesn't make sense to me. Still I am watching it because like you said there are many likeable things happening in the show. But its not the show I would be eagerly waiting to watch.

Also. Its not like I don't like slow drama. I am currently watching Agar which like this show has loads of character and the main focal point is a single house and their children. I actually enjoy that show better. I am not sure why though

@bold The car scene is not to be seen from a logical pov. It's just there to show the dynamo between the two characters. No matter how much they say they dislike each other salman will be there to help her and Aaliya likes that and don't resist him. Logically salman is not supposed to be present every time her car breaks down either 😆.

Yup all their fight scenes looked really forced from day one. Specially fighting each other on the same place looked illogical to me.

Blue: That's the problem.. though I don't like it, I don't dislike it either.. I've stopped watching Tinkey Ka Sahara and Hook after 3-4 episodes as first, I dislike their premise, and second, I've no hope that they can improve. However, in the case of Kahi Ankahi, both these cases are not true. Plus, I love so many cast members, out of which some are those that I can watch even a terrible show just for them.

Green: Yes, I was expecting perfection from this show and the reason was the cast like Sajal, Bilal, Irsa Ghazal, etc. who have delivered perfection to me each time they come to screen. Also, the name of Kashf Foundation increased my expectations thousands of times as Udaari and Dil Na Umeed To Nahi were nothing but perfection.

Lastly, I'm glad that you and others are enjoying this show. I never tried to spoil your experience by denying anything you say. In fact, I always share what I find likable in the episode. However, whenever someone likeminded share his/her view that he/she doesn't like the show then I can also share what I find unsatisfhying in the show with him/her. No offence to those who are enjoying it.

P.S. For me what I like or what I dislike has nothing to do with popularity, number of views, and ratings of the show. It is always based on my personal experience and preferences.

Very very valid points. Green and Blue, I guess perfection is also very subjective na. Or maybe it’s not about perfection but about expectations, maybe in popular OTT dramas, our expectations are actually very low in terms of quality, so we cast our blinders to enjoy the chemistry or the comedy of the show. Here, hum blinders kiss chiz ke liye daale…

Nahi nahi didn’t mean to target or specify anyone, least of all you, in terms of your comments regarding your non enjoyment, that’s why I didn’t tag or quote anyone. Because I truly feel this is a forum and yaha nahi tou aur kaha.

the funny thing is for all my bakbak I am actually unable to really articulate why I love this show. I do think there are aspects very similar to my family - we are two mufat daughters, the Bilal and his mom relationship is a lot like my mom and my bhai’s relationship, when he is at home, he is in the kitchen with her. My mothers relationship with my late father’s sisters is very similar to the mom and phupho’s relationship. Because now I live away from them on my own, leading my single job life, maybe ..and there is some sukoon factor that is inexplicable..

I know what you mean about the feeling…I want to like it…but can’t…this happened with me and Kaala Doriya…I love OB… and somehow that show busss fit hi nahi hua mere liye…I chalked it up to over exposure…I had seen all the chaudhry written dramas before…fro, suno Chanda ro Chupke Chupke to Ishq Jalebi ti hum tum…hum tum. Had already reduced my interest…I should have known kaala Doriya will not work for me, but I love OB…shayad mai badi ho gayin hun!!!! Kya Pata ctrl Alt del Aap bhi bade Ho gaye Ho….shayad… now you have become discerning….which is an excellent trait I am told,. 😘😘😘😘
