Maybe it's the dialogues or the way the scenes are enacted but Anuj Kapadia's obsession with CA is really creepy and disturbing for me. People may say he has a deep bond with her but even after knowing that her biological mother is alive, why is he hell bent on snatching someone's child (just because he is wealthy??) rather than coming at a working arrangement. Finding it hard to believe that a businessman is not considering different scenarios and only wants to fight.

And what great deeds of fatherhood has he ever done to aggressively demand someone else's child at any cost like this? He completely abandoned Malvika for whom he was a father figure. For CA he took a stand against Tamashahs much after the breaking point had been reached.

More than anything, the way he shouted at Anupamaa was eerily reminiscent of how Vanraj used to do so. Anupamaa may have several flaws but she's being completely reasonable here and putting up with his crap and accusations. This is the same person who he claimed to be head over heels in love with all this while and now she's at the receiving end again like her earlier marriage because he is obsessed with CA. In the past, he rarely had mature conversations with her where he expressed his pov or how Anupamaa is going wrong and instead just went on with his meri Anu jaap and disapproving silently at times.

The irony is he taunted Anupamaa saying CA is not a toy to be given away but he himself is behaving like a spoilt child refusing to share possessions whereas he should try and come to a compromise with the person who has the most right on CA and this was rightly pointed out by Anupamaa. Whatever MAA may have done, no one deserves to be screamed at and blamed this way. Makers just want to make her suffer, get caught in such situations and say sooori soori soori.

Imo, the writer has little to no exposure working with men in general. They have no true idea or have taken no pains to understand how a male in Anujs shoes will react.

It is highly contradictory for Anuj to be shown as Mature lover of Anupama and highly disrespectful behavior towards Maaya and then then highly obsessed behavior towards CA.

It's like there Is a vile person like Baa behind Anujs face 🤣🤣

Sorry, I don't think I am using the right words bit it is very immature writing that is leading to creepy/cringe scenes plus the acting is OTT to align with FL.

His obsession is absolutely unreasonable. Sorry to say, but his char comes across as psycho.

Speaking of obsessions, does anyone understand his sick obsession with Anupamaa to begin with?

He feels nothing for GK who raised him. Nothing for his sister, but manic behavior obsession for Anupamaa & CA is totally unreasonable.

Sadly this so called show on women empowerment is in love with glorifying MCPs and trapping women in toxic marriages! According to this pathetic show it’s perfectly fine to cheat on your parter and abuse them, and there will be no consequences to your actions! Makers should be ashamed for showing such toxic crap!

I did not ever feel Anuj love CA. It always came across as a wild obsession. Anuj has an obsessive nature. He was obsessed with a woman he saw for a few minutes, now he is obsessed with a child who is not his. He needs to get treated immediately before all hell breaks lose.

No dear, you used the right words. Just one correction in the 1st sentence - "Imo, the writer has little to no exposure. " period. 🤣

Anuj is coming off as a complete and total psycho here. Its impossible to understand this creepy obsession unless you categorise it into a mental disorder. Yes anybody would feel bad if someone took away their foster child suddenly, but this man is going crazy. STEALING SOMEBODY’S CHILD IS NOT OK. (Even if that somebody is a snake like Maya.)

Its understood that MaAn would be better than that snake to raise the kid. And if the kid wants to be with MaAn then of course she should. But Anuj behaves as if he is ENTITLED to CA and that she is his prized possession.

And blaming Anu for something totally out of her reach when she is the sane person in the situation.
The writer knows only 2 types of men- righteous textbook feminists like Anuj (till now) or MCPs like Vanraj (and lately Anuj). There is a whole spectrum of real, reasonable men in between which is missing.
I think we bashed Anupamaa so much that now they need to spoil Anuj’s character to show her as more realistic.

You did - and I very much feel you are right - it's the writing that's atrociously over-the-top and inconsistent!

Anuj's character feels so out of character now...almost like a psychopath. And they can show his pain (intensely and as a very flawed human being too) without taking away from Maya's pain...why does one side have to be destroyed to raise the other side? Why can't both the perspectives breathe?

..

"Anu.....Anu....I'm not able to breathe properly...not able to breathe...just thinking of losing my Choti... I'm not able to..."

"Anuj...Anuj...here drink some water first...here..." Anupama helps him drink water. He holds the glass instinctively and does not shatter it into pieces like a violent madman. He simply becomes restless and puts it aside.

Anupama starts.

"Anuj...Choti is precious to me too. But this is the kind of situation where we need to think beyond our selves..." Anupama starts tentatively.

...Look, look at me, Anuj, look at me. We have known her only for 4 months, right? We have known her only 4 months and this is our state. This woman who has come into our life now and thrown it upside down - is her mother - her actual mother...

...Didn't you hear her story? You heard it, right? The kind of brutality she faced in her life...betrayed by her lover in the worst possible way at such a young and innocent age. The life in a brothel....the trauma in her eyes when she was talking about all that - Choti was what gave her life and hope and strength, Anuj. She might have been feeling so, so dead inside and lonely for years before that...and didn't you hear? She got disowned by her parents too....she truly doesn't seem to have anyone else in this world, Anuj. We cannot ignore her side of the story. As fellow human beings, we just -"

Anuj was listening but looking very uncomfortable. "Why do we have to always be great all the time, Anu? I want to be selfish. I can't lose my Choti, Anu...I just can't...She feels like...she feels like she is meant to be my daughter, you know? She is my daughter. And this Maya woman, how do we know her story is true? How -" He starts a little defiantly and then starts breaking down.

Anupama took a deep breath.

"Anuj - let's verify all her information, okay? This is something we should have done earlier. Let's verify -"

"What if everything she said is true?" Anuj immediately asks. "I am so scared, Anu, I am scared of losing -"

"Anuj, she's a human being too, she will try and understand our pain if we try and understand her pain. We can come to some arrangement - maybe visitation rights, something like that, right?"

Anuj looked dejected. "I-I-I don't want to sha-"

Anupama gently shushed him. "Right now, it's your intense emotional attachment to Choti speaking. Take some time to think. And think from Maya's perspective - if not for Maya, atleast do it for Choti. Doesn't she deserve her own mother to be with her?"

Anuj did not say anything for a very long time. Then he nodded ever so slightly.

Bro Maa will get sympathy now. How else the makers would make the audience sympathise with her? During the new year kaand most of the people sided with Anuj. I am not taking anyone’s side. You know me that I won’t take any of these hypocrite’s side but why all characters have to be destroyed to show one person great.

Have called him out when he popped the idea of adoption. More than Anupama I blame him for neglecting CA. He first asks Maa to keep his daughter away and the next day he sends her to naanu papa to get insulted. A man who doesn’t care for his parents, sister, uncle who were with him when no one was can’t love anyone else. His so called love is shallow like him.
