A wife feeding her husband with her hands is a sign of affection, not a thirst trap. Nooo! I don't know if anyone has watched Madhubala, but in that show, RK eats quite a few times from Madhubala's hands when he is injured and it did not look explicit at all. Here, they are only looking at the entire show and whatever M&M do from a thirsty, explicit angle, which is such a disservice tbh. Not everything has to be, for the bed

I have so much to say, I will quote my points, one by one.

hey , i am a Madhubala fan ❤️

Hi everyone 🤗

So glad to have found this forum! New viewer here, and this show has become an obsession!

Such shows that leave a mark don't come often, and this is one of them. Being a bit familiar with Pak shows starting with Humsafar, I have found many shows' plots to have a melancholic touch and too much sadness (by reading the plot and not watching much). But the upbeat vibe and look and feel here are great! I like the bewafai tune only, and not the lyrics. Wonder why it has to say bewafai karunga, pal mei bhula dunga

It's certainly not just looks or romance. Both Murtasim and Meerab have a lot of depth and layers to their individual characters, as well as to their story and journey together. While binge-watching the initial episodes, the dargah scene and the arziyan music with Murtasim's changing feelings and softening stance really stood out. 👏 That was one scene which needs a separate analysis and discussion, among the many other equally beautiful sequences before and after that.

Wahaj needs special mention and applause for bringing Murtasim to life - that character now has its own existence with such a remarkable screen presence. So dynamic with the power he holds yet vulnerable when he asks Ma Begum "aapke liye mei kya hun" before agreeing to marry Meerab. He knows she's not happy and yet he has to agree because of the responsibility that comes with the gaddi. Though he's fallen in love now, but it is lonely at the top, after all. ❤️

He can't just do whatever his heart desires, despite being in control of everyone and everything around him. He can't give into impulse. Always has to operate within the boundaries of khandaan ki izzat, duniya ke expectations from him, family's pressure, etc. Yet he has come to be the perfect father figure whom his people worship. He owns this position and makes it his own, and how! That is endearing and reflective of reality.

Her reactions to Haya and her advances towards Murtasim are not just stemming out of jealousy, it is making her insecure in an already wishy-washy marriage. She is flipping out, being fidgety and making her concerns obvious to Murtasim time and again. Every time Haya pulls some audacious stunts, she gets visibly shocked. It is not just some cute jealous anymore.

I am totally blaming this on Murtasim. It is him being way too ignorant towards Haya's issue and underestimating her obsession for him when she has blatantly fed him lies about his wife leaving him on hospital bed, which is concerning.

His sympathy with Haya hardly makes sense after he has ousted her multiple times from his room before marriage.

He got successfully manipulated by Haya into believing Meerab left him, when he claims to 'love' her. But the truth is, he does not trust her yet. It is a long way to go. For starters, he can stop being lenient to Haya and make some efforts in making his wife feel secure.

Oh that comment on saree had me rolling my eyes. It all depends on the way you drape it, the fit of the blouse, but it's the most preferred everyday outfit for most women in our subcontinent. I don't how they derive such absurd conclusions.

If the upcoming misunderstanding between them happens bcz of haya's kartut . I will not blame meerab a bit. It will all on murtu for his ignorance towards his wife's clear discomfort regarding haya issues.

There is no doubt that Murtasim is encouraging Haya, but it is not intentional. If you see before wedding he was that strict man who always follows what’s right according to him and what Haya was doing was wrong so he reprimanded her.

And the change in his character is visible, now instead of going with his brain, he is thinking with his heart and it is not only him but any human being on this planet will not be harsh to someone that claims to love him if he knows what love is and what feelings are. But the thing he is not able to differentiate that by doing this he is not breaking her heart but saving her from herself. If he really loves Meerub there is no chance that in future he would ever be with Haya and false hope hurts more than a heartbreak. He needs to set boundaries and I agree with this but now it’s not easy for him to hurt anyone, it’s not only Haya whom he forgave, but Malik and Zubair as well and even those goons too who tried to kidnap Meerub and the Murtasim before he fell in love would have not done that.

And the main reason behind his behaviour is that now he knows he it feels to be in one sided love and he empathises with Haya and Empathy is a more dangerous emotion than love.

Welcome friend

You bring up some wonderful points. Yes the lyrics are too harsh. If you love someone truly, you will never betray them and you will never forget them. The lyrics is more suitable in the initial phase of their relationship, it does seem out of place as the story progresses. One thing 1000% guaranteed is that neither will forget one another even if they are separated, no matter how angry or upset they are with each other.

Yes that line by Murtasim was the first sign of vulnerability from his character on this show. It was a confused boy stripped off titles asking his mother am I just a tool for you or do you care for me at all. If I remember Ma Begum said a lot on nonsense but never said she loves him or asked him lovingly what is bothering him. So this is when we realize how lonely he is at the top, his mother loves him in a clinical way, and he lacks warmth comfort understanding in his life. Could have been the many reasons why he decided to marry Meerab, only she will stand by his side, even if she is angry with him and doesn't love him she is his support and strength.
