I have seen my friends in college.

Ek ke saath relationship mein hain, but koi aur zyada pasand hain.

And when the previous guy had proposed, she rejected him because one of her other friend said the other guy is more pretty.

In the entire relationship, till marriage she contemplated if she made the right choice or not and if he was better

I echo your thoughts, lately I have observed lot of negative comments on the show, that is the norm though you cannot satisfy all of your audiences, there are bound to be critics but I have been enjoying the show so far , though some episodes were not so much exciting as some but I like the way they are taking forward the love story. Viaan's redemption was cut short probably because everyone of us including katha had forgiven him too soon , may be this is a way to show his going extra mile to make Katha's problems go away and make people around her happy so that she is happy.It is a beautiful way of showcasing someone's love. Also there is no harm in showing some random acts of kindness , we all do that sometimes just to make ourselves feel better and make a difference of our own in world around us.Vada pav scene was not to put in your face Viaan's kindness on your face but to set a base for his act of kindness with dodo later.

I agree with you. It's not easy for makers to satisfy every viewer. If they would have gone for long redemption track then probably most of would have got bored.

People may complain that Viaan's character has changed suddenly and the writers are over compensating by showing him Mr Goody two shoes. But I feel this is not some overnight change. ONS changed viaan, it was a turning point for him and I have seen people changing after an impactful event in their life. His random acts of kindness are not to glorify him but I feel they are establishing his character.

In og all act of Viaan's kindness was after he proposed katha and purely to impress her. So I really liked this approach in our show as they have made genuinely a changed man. He may be helping dodo to reduce Katha's problems but that vada pav scene with kids symbolises that he is generally helpful and empathetic.

Sometimes they used to take me with them for shopping and it was a torture for me.

They would walk the entire mall for 4 hours and buy 1 dress and then contemplate if they bought the good one or not

Yes his turning point was the scene where he almost did a suicide attempt after hearing katha's reason for asking money. He realised how low he had stooped in his own negative thoughts. . that moment of realisation that he acted like a ghatiya insaan changed him for better. He first was in guilt and tried staying away from her but now he has taken a step ahead and becoming the person Katha is. When you start loving a person , sometime other person does bring out a better version of you. That is what love does to you. He sees that she has developed bonds so strong and real inspite of no blood ties with them.. He wants to be that person too.. And yes may be he had that golden heart already since Jeetu bhai told katha. He has just started showing all heart to people around katha who matter to him as they matter to her.

Bulbul - this part I completely agree with you. In fact in all of the other versions the fact that he does acts of kindness to impress her or seek forgiveness from her made it seem very surface level change in Viaan. Song writers and directors team definitely concentrated on the introspective Viaan. His lines right after the ONS were so deep - I was afraid they would get lost somewhere - but they had told us that this is an introspective guy, which frankly what made me like him in the first place

PS - of course it totally helps my expectations from the show since I don’t watch every single episode and half the time fast forward all the non kaaviaan related scenes. It lets me maintain my mansik santulan, I am rooting for this couple and these two and maybe aarav is all I really care about
