I think they use Islamic laws to their convenience. If i am not wrong then men are not allowed to marry again without the permission of the first wife and he is supposed to treat them equally but in dramas and in real life they just show guys marry out of their own will and the first wife most of the times aren't even aware of the marriages and they certainly don't treat all their wives equally. So i doubt these zamindari families will divide their land equally between their male and female children. The property will definitely get into the hands of another family when the girl is married.
Yes, but if you look in this show, there is hardly any outrageously hateful behaviour towards women in their household.
Every woman in their house, starting from Maa Begum, to Haya, Maryam and Meerab do their own thing, with a memo, of course. Yes, they are shown conservative about the females in their family, and that is from an Islamic way of thinking with the sar pe dupatta and wearing chaadar outside house (which is practiced in Pakistan very normally and even in India, we have Burkhas).
So they are not that being unfair to their woman, like they show in some of their dramas usually. Anwer didn't even get married for the second time, after being widowed so early in life.
If we look at all this, they are quiet ethical with their traditions and laws, so Maryam will definitely get her share of lands. And no, as per Sharia, property and wealth isn't equally divided amongst sons and daughters. It's 3 parts: 2 to the male heir and 1 to the female heir. So Maryam will get that 1 part wealth, while Murtasim will get twice as her share.
