No, I am just saying this is more of the same misogynist content.

I just realized that release date is Women's Day.

Honestly, watching these movies makes me feel I am betraying my own existence as a woman. Still, this time I really wanted to watch it for Bassi. But now this release date is really irritating me, and even Bassi is not worth the effort to put up with these shitty ideas.

It's hilarious actual women writing sermons that "it's just a movie and must be enjoyed as one separating it from it's problematic parts" I wonder where the same logic had vanished during Kabir Singh. Have heard about watching and paying for stuff by separating the artist from their art. But yaha toh kuch aur hi chal raha where you can dissect the movie and pretend to be blind about the problematic parts and enjoy the fluff on the side. So good.

Favourite ke liye kya kuch karna padta hein. Going back on your words must be hard 😒

I haven't watched Kabir Singh but I have read some articles about the toxic masculinity glorification. Sadly, we have been fed with this kind of shitty content for years in this way or another. 80's and 90's movies were full of such sexist ideas. So it's not a big deal for us. Entertainment milega aur khubsoorat chehra milega toh sub kuch dekhega. But people don't understand that these ideas pervade our minds and shapes our opinions . For ages it has been played in different forms and it has distorted the whole idea of romance and ideal partner in our heads. You know those women who dream of a man who will "save them from the world", for them the possessiveness is a sign of intense love.

But Luv Ranjan has brought a new way of toxicity towards women, he is always accusing a woman for the "poor" man's pain. Men in his scripts might be "skirt chasers" but it will always be in a light hearted vibe of "Men will be men", once these men "truly" fall for a women they totally loose their mind and now they are the victims to be used by their manipulative partners. Or there is the manipulative male who is "good at heart" and plays the savior. Women are toxic, manipulators, controlling and basically amoral.

He has been repeating same ideas one movie after another. But as we know, content is a matter of demand and supply, so as long as the audience asks, there shall be supply. I see it more and more on the net, Instagram reels full of such content. And sadly it is feeding people with negative opinions about women in general.

As you said there are those who are ok with turning a blind eye for whatever reason so I guess it is not going to just disappear. I just hope, someday (very soon), people will stop consuming media like addicts and start giving a thought to what ideas they are feeding into the brains.

And honestly, I am always more amazed (in a negative way) by the actresses who want to play the female characters in his movies. Is that "pretending to be blind" for the sake of a meaty role or they just don't see what we see?
