Vetoba is a form of deity meant to protect the local community . Worshipped in belt of konkan and Goa ,Vetoba protects and shelters local populace from ghosts and other evils . He patrols the village at night and hence the soles of his footwear are worn out .... The footwear is a mark of symbol that he roams the villages in konkan at night and protects the properties and lives of those living in the villages ....

As a young kid we have heard many stories from Grandmother and her sisters on Lord Vetoba ...
