Probably a few more sequels, few more remakes, some flop spy thrillers before Bollywood dies a slow death.

BW is here to stay, thanks to SRK and the ever improving VFX. 💃

First people said Akshay saved the industry with Suryavanshi, then Kartik saved the industry with BB. Now it’s SRK saved the industry with Pathaan? I thought we also said Alia did that with Gangu and Brahmastra?

After a few months y’all will say Ranbir saved the industry with Animal

Meanwhile no one is actually saving the sinking ship that is Bollywood and the lack of interest the public has in Hindi films. This is an all-time low point for the industry. Things have been really bad since 2014 and even worse since 2019

Hindi films absolutely SUCK right now. Even hits like Pathaan, BB2, Brahmastra are just horrible. We think these awful films are good because we’re comparing it to worse products. Something doesn’t become good because you’re comparing it to a lower level product.

It's difficult to predict because nothing is consistent in Bollywood. But here are some of my predictions.😳

I do not think that Khans, Ajay and Akshay are ever going to "retire" People have been speculating about their retirement since 6-7 years now, and here we are in 2023 with all of them still quite relevant. 😵

Khans/Ajay/Akshay are always going to be relevant in some way or the other. They're capable of producing, bankrolling (& even directing) their films now, and they have the VFX technology to keep their face young digitally.

We might seem them in more films like Dangal, Drishiyam etc.👍🏼 but they will never be out of work.

Salman might end up embarrassing himself more by romancing even more young heroines, but he will certainly reach a point where even the masses (whom he caters) will outright reject him🐷. Similar to what happened to Dharmendra in the 90s.🥱

Film Industry and Indian society is not very hard on male actors in their 40s, so Ranbir will be comfortably romancing younger heroines till his 50s. Same for Ranveer, Ayushman, Rajkumar Rao, Kartik Aryan, Tiger Shroff etc .......even if they don't take the place of the Khans.

Ranbir is also the last male actor with some "acting" caliber, so people (masses + classes) will always prefer him over the likes of Varun, Kartik etc who all came after him. So, he will be the new Aamir in that sense.😛

Actresses like Tabu, Vidya, Shefali Shah etc will keep the game going, because they will always have age-appropriate roles to back them, Their films may still not do well commercially but they will surely be watched by a very niche audience. Taapsee, Bhumi might join their league but they lack that level of talent😵 and don't have that credibility as of now. Hopefully they'll improve, as they're more content-oriented actresses, rather than glam dolls.

Kriti, Sara, Ananya and Jhanvi etc etc will be married OR gearing up for marriage by the end of this decade, and only a handful of them will be relevant after marriage (similar to what happened to Anushka, Sonam etc)

Deepika/Alia will be labelled the last female superstars, and they will milk this tag to their advantage😆 and keep working, either in films, OTT or even television.🤓

Kangana will either join politics full time OR end up like Praveen Babi. I don't see anything in-between.😵

The likes of irrelevant and talent-less actors like Arjun Kapoor, Tara, Sonakshi etc will (hopefully) slowly fade into oblivion or will move to supporting roles. Because people won't watch them in lead roles even on OTT.

Next batch of nepo debutants like Aryan Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Ibrahim, Nysa Devgan Aryaman Deol etc will be the new "upcoming" superstars by the end of this decade.🤔 I feel Aryan Khan will be the new heartthrob (like Ranbir or Sanjay Dutt in their initial days). His story has all the ingredients.🤓

Some grown-up child artists like Harshali Malhotra may enter the industry and might succeed if they're talented enough.👍🏼

It will keep going on.

It is only old gen that has issues with actors of today. Otherwise even plastics like Jhanvi, Sara, Ananya have fans and there are new nepo kids like Aryan, Suhana, Junaid, Agastya blah blah lined up. Babil Khan also got award for Qala.

No big deal. We may not like BW at all but new guys and girls keep coming and get their own audience and oldies keep churning films till they die like AB Sr is still working.

Sooryavanshi, Pathaan, Gangubai, Drishyam 2, BB 2 were hits so IDK why people announce death of BW.

Every year is not like say, 2001 when we had lot of hits like Gadar, K3G, Lagaan, DCH, cults like Chandni Bar in one year.

Though stars will surely lose appeal as people get more content online from comfort of homes and watch new age creators, OTT platforms, have reduced attention spans.

Those days are gone when name or presence of star alone could make films hit one after the other the way, say Salman had hit streak in 2010-2011 when even faltu films like Ready and Bodyguard were breaking BO records just due to his presence.

It will become clear by then whether this Gujarati cartel will yet meet its fate or not that has very much constricted BW to cough up either agitprops (one knows very well their themes) or movies that otherwise doesn't touch their raw nerves (eg. trashy remakes , plain masala etc.) thereby arresting the evolution of Hindi cinema beyond it by highly circumscribing film makers on many fronts like the areas to explore into , the ingenuity to grow beyond etc.

Though I am not much hopeful as of yet tbh despite recent SC ruling , it is do or die for them you know . Hence the like to Natkhat's post .

Are you sure they won’t ever retire? Maybe they won’t quit acting but they can’t do heroes roles forever. They can’t become hero when they 80 no matter how young they look and it’s fact. What if they die. Then, then we will never see them again. They are almost 60 and people can die anytime after this age. The average life expectancy in India is 70. The young actors are not doing so well. Only Alia and Varun did well over the last 10 years and rest of them flopped. No one cares about the young actors like Sara, Jhanvi, etc. And no one will care about the upcoming star kids like Aryan or Nysa. Social media and other things had overtaken Bollywood. When we can see so many things in online, then why waste money on these non talented star kids? We already know them through social media before their debut. So what is the need to watch them in theater? By the way, Aryan will not become hero and I think SRK said that he will be a director, not an actor. He won’t become heartthrob. The reason is because he is a famous star kid and no famous star kid became a heartthrob or big star. Another reason is because the heartthrob generation is over. No recent actor had become heartthrob like HR. Karthik tried to become heartthrob through his PR but it didn’t work.
