Surekha is back to patch up Abhi and Akshu

Surekha will be replaced by someone older

Literally so random to bring surekha back suddenly. I'm guessing they aren't going to bring luv-kush and akhilesh back. And literally no mention of what happened to gayu and vatsal. Really random gayu left vansh only with goenkas.

IIRC, Gayu is Naira's cousin and Vansh is her kid.

Surekha is volatile char. She used to be jealous of Naira and used to help Mimi against Naira. some times she used to be good. When her sons went to jail because of Naira she was against the naira and Karthik too. After she vanished but mentioned one episode as they settled in States.

Gayu is naira's cousin sister. Her fiance vivaan died in an accident, after which everyone got to know she was pregnant with vivaan's child, Vansh. Samarth, who was karthik's uncle liked gayu and proposed marriage to her and stated he would accept her with her unborn child. So Vansh is naira's nephew, but he isn't related by blood to goenka's at all. Unfortunately after a leap, it was shown that samarth turned cold towards gayu and vansh despite initially wanting to marry her and accept vansh too when gayu herself was not interested in marrying anybody after vivaan's death and she planned to be a single mother to vansh. The reason for samarth change in behaviour was because gayu refused to have a child with samarth as she wanted to solely focus on vansh. This made samarth resentful towards vansh.

Things slightly got better between gayu and samarth when they had vatsal together, but samarth became even more neglectful towards vansh, which made gayu resentful towards samarth as this was exact reason why she did not want a child with samarth in first place.

After naira death, a leap was shown where gayu was shown living in guilt of naira's death because gayu was not on good terms with naira before her death I believe and it was told samarth had divorced and left gayu, and I assume he took vatsal with him as after naira death leap before seerat entry I did not see vatsal around.

Gayu was last seen just before they took the small leap to show little akshu and arohi to set up the big season 3 gen leap.
