Sounds very insensitive and leaning towards superstitions or finding excuses for bad movies. At the risk of sounding insensitive myself, I doubt Akshay was unaware of this question coming up. Do with that what you will 🤷🏽‍♀️

Insensitive...yes...but looking at the one who brings that up, it doesn't come as a surprise.

Bel Bottom released in August 2021 (commercial failure)

Sooryavanshi released in November 2021 (commercial success) ... so, if his mother/mother's death jinxed the outcome of his movies, this didn't work here

The filming of the next three movies had finished before his mother's death (so Akshay's work should not have been affected by his mother`s death, but maybe she already had a monthlong bad health condition).

Anyways, it makes no real sense to connect his mother's death with the string of commercial failures.

However, this is only a clip...maybe one should watch the whole interview...although...I won't...because of the interviewer...
