Thats surprising, even Salman worked with them through ETT series that too like how many years its took for them to collborate same goes with Aamir it took Fanaa to collborate with YRF than Dhoom 3 even though i remembered Aamir refused to do Rahul character of Darr due to the character being negative and after that they never worked till Fanaa happened

I think Karishma works twice that too in small cameos like DTPH she was the supporting actress & Yeh Dillagi she played a cameo in the end but never a full fledge lead role for YRF

I read that after darr sunny felt he was screwed and got jilted by then and I think after that didn’t work with him. Akshay Kumar also didn’t work with them either in the earlier years. It was mainly amitabh and srk who worked with the banner and have to admit they have aggressive marketing overseas. They started to go bankrupt or on the negative when they were doing movies with new comers that they went and started casting the other Khans and big names to help them out.

Really nice documentary. Not surprise that they did not fuss over their failures too much as this is suppose to be a celebration of their 50 years of YRF.

Adi Chopra's interview was top notch. The guy clearly knows Hindi Cinema and movies in general. And for all the talks about him being shy and introverted - his body language and way of speaking and answering questions definitely do not point to him being a shy person. He seemed extremely confident and comfortable in front of the camera and very well articulated too. I also liked how he did not shy away from accepting his privilege and that he was able to do certain things and achieve certain things because he came from a rich family.

Have some new found sympathy for Uday not because of him being a flop actor etc. but because of his bond with his dad and how he was broken after his death. Rings close to home.

We are rewatching Dhoom 1 after this .. and we can totally see the formula that Adi was talking about: Action-Comedy-Song getting cycled repeatedly around a basic script.

And honestly, Uday definitely seems like the best actor in the "star" cast. John is looking too cool, almost like a prequel to Jim's character, but god damn, his dialogue delivery is flatter than a wooden plank.

I just read an old time interview of Adi the iconic 'Palat' scene from DDLJ was taken from the hollywood film Line Of The Fire. Adi was very honest that he taken the scene from that film because he just loved it. It was stuck in his head he did forgot it but while writing for DDLJ this scene once again came back to his mind

Adi gain my respect how honestly he admitted that he loved that scene so much that he wanted it for DDLJ. When i watched the HW version yesterday, it was indeed beautiful as much as its was in DDLJ. Kudos to his vision and SRKajol chemistry just elevated the scene to another level and made it iconic

Its my toplist fav scene of DDLJ

Other makers will not even admit and lies through their teeth its their idea but Adi truly loved the scene in HW version and wrote the indian way and result 27 yrs the scene is so iconic and fresh no matter how many time we watched its as beautiful as it was 27 yrs back

If we walk the lane from 70s 80s 90 20s and now when its 2023. Times has changed years has passed but those films under YRF banner like their 70s-80s films,Chandni Lamhe Silsila Darr Aaina Yeh Dillagi DDLJ Veer-Zaara DTPH the music & the film are still loved and remembered with a smile and how they are known as classics and even celebrated now. Each & every scene and songs are remembered. Films after that till 2023 they are just forgotten neither the scenes are remembered nor the songs thats how indian cinema going through now.

I remember scenes and music from Chandni DDLJ Lamhe Darr 90s Salman Aamir Ajay Akshay Anil films but i don't remember anything from recent films be it YRF or any other banner. For me its proves enough recent films be it the stars or makers they just can't hold you like 80s 90s films did to us or our parents grandparents era did to them. Something is lacking and its sad that gone days will never comeback

However, what may be "lacking" could have nothing to do with the movies but with the changing attention span that modern times 'gifted' to mankind...
