A story of Mothers and Sons: Close to reality

Hi guys, I am back after a break. It was hectic last 10 days sucked up my all blood. Today is a bit less hectic. thought of making a quick post.

I was watching all episodes daily, but could not spend much time writing here. I have been watching on birdie also people are bored of Ehsan, Reet, Gs and very less SS for Katha-Viaan.

To me, it appears like a story of Mothers and Sons, three of them. Katha-Aarav, Teji-Viaan and Farah-Ehsan.

The base of the story is Aarav and his sickness, which forces Katha to accept the deal by Viaan and Aarav will be the reason later they will come together, I think. I feel Indian version has deviated here from OG.

Farah aunty and her convo with Ehsan forced me to rethink about Viaan-Ehsan friendship and its depth. In my opinion, their friendship has not been tested so far, and Katha will test their friendship and it will fall apart. Ehsan looked surprised when his mom told about Katha as a perfect life partner material and business partner material. He was not shocked as his mom told about business breaking and all. and he did not justify his friendship with Viaan. It is a red flag. I focussed on the word "material" and I feel these two people are very selfish.

In real life also, We get to see many friendships fall apart when some of the hard truths hit them.

Farah is happy to have a perfect partner material for Ehsan, whereas Teji will object for this perfect material in Viaan's life. There is a stark difference you see there.

I loved Batman-Robin bond and I hope this bond remains the same forever. And Aarav will bridge all the gaps in every relation of Katha.

What I love is the way they show the struggles of parents, how they want to fulfil their kids dreams, and how this show execution is close to reality.

I love G family scenes. And I know they are not fully redeemed. and they will be here for a long time.

And I can understand why Reet behave the way she is, as in our society, still boys are assets and girls are liabilities. There may be a minor change happening here and there, still majority of society is with the same attitude. Reet is super insecure and if she delivers a baby girl, she can turn into a full vamp later.

I am perfectly fine with the pace of the story, I am fine with a story with no ITV cliches. We finished almost 50 episodes with no fall-trip, no dupatta scene, no lifting of FL by ML, no eye locks. Most importantly no emotional atyachar, no victim cards by any characters. Yet we are waiting for next episode. Happy that ITV can tell story this way also.

I don't find Viaan is insecure of Ehsan or jealous, he is aware of what Katha thinks of Ehsan and he knows she is uncomfortable. As of now, Katha is confused of Viaan, and Viaan is just sticking to his promise of keeping distance. And he respects her for the woman she is. No feelings from both sides.

This is what it is from me for the day. Going to another meeting. I have one more draft to complete. Hope to finish by tomorrow

Did you not see Aarav's fall and Viaan catching him?🤣

This is a different TV crew. Love will happen between Aarav and Viaan first!

I am fine with the pace too but a bit creeped out by both Ehsan and Viaan. I understood why Viaan deleted the pictures but it should have been Katha's call. Both men need to learn about the concept of boundaries. I also need Katha to firmly put Ehsan in his place. The makers have succeeded in placing both Ehsan and his mother in my dislike list. I had so many expectations from Ehsan's character. However, I have understood and accepted that he is the Bad in the story. Hope they turn him grey afterwards.

Nice to have you back. I have to admit that I have fallen in love with ZGH. I only watched KA yesterday for some light content🤣

Aarav-Viaan fall and catch I laughed like anything. Aarav could bring smile to Viaan's face. I love this duo.

I am so done with Ehsan, and I must appreciate that within 10 episodes they could successfully make me hate him, but I accept that we need bad characters in story.

I believe both these boys have studied in boys schools and colleges all through, they don't have the concept of personal space for women colleagues🤣🤣

Hayee ZGH❤️❤️ Which episode you are in? I love Zaroon and Kashaf❤️❤️

forgot to post -- I think it will be interesting to see ehsaan and viaan's relationship fall apart as long as they don't make it seem like katha is the issue. she can be the trigger but the makers should make it clear that the real problem is somethign else altogether and it is about the way the men work or don't work well together.

Katha will be a trigger. she will not be the reason. Viaan and Ehsan friendship is not on equal footing. As long as Viaan is giving in in the relationship, it was running smooth. the moment he did deviating, be it for katha or not, disagreement started. It will be interesting to see how it falls flat. I am looking forward to Papa G - Mama G and Viaan interaction later as the story progresses

that interesting point -- do you think viaan was only giving? and not a taker? somehow, I would have put it as ehsaan being the giver...

To me it looks like Viaan was the serious guy who run the company, so a kind of security comes in and he was the one who solved most of the problems in work. Ehsan was cool guy, cool with the way Viaan worked. Viaan had traumas and abandonment issues, Ehsan gave a shoulder to lean on physically, but viaan's issues were never really solved. That's how I look at this. You are free to disagree

that makes sense; in terms of the company, it was viaan who gave it all.

and yes, even emotionally, it doesn't feel like ehsaan really understood or empathized with viaan truly. otherwise, he wouldn't be randomly using viaan as a way to gossip bond with katha.

Thanks for the tag, I am kind of in and out of the show. For me it’s dragging and if this is a show about mothers and sons, I am sorry I am not interested, I was here for the nuanced love story between a man who was complexed by his own ego and a woman who was righteous by her circumstances. Every episode it seems like it’s getting away from that, if it’s about mothers and sons, ismei kya Ankahee Kathaa hai?!

But yes Zaroon and Kashaf are molds that were broken. I don’t think even Umera was able to repeat the subtle and depth of these characters in any other of her other plays and she wrote many. Those characters are complexed personalities by both circumstances and ego. That is one beautiful series,

These days I am cuddling myself up watching the Pak show Kuch Ankahi - the whole treatment of the show is like a hot cup of coffeee on a Sunday afternoon. Mazaa aa raha hai. I am also busy enjoying Wahaj in an OTT show but that’s not worthy of any longetivity, it’s a paperback compared to Kuch Ankahi’s intricate novel.
