Salman shakes a leg and much else | 2008-05-15
Doing hip-hop at his age might not be too good for those aging hips though!
As if all the overactive dance moves in his movies were not enough, Salman has decided to extend them to the tube now. An exclusive music video for his show 'Dus Ka Dum' will be premiering on television today!
Damn! Even TV shows need an item number to sell now.
So get ready for the same pained expressions and jerky movements. The only difference is that the eye-bags are more visible and the hangover from last night more apparent.
Rajeev Surti has taken charge of the choreography in the video while the music has been composed by Salman's current favourites Sajid-Wajid.
Good for them. When Salman thinks about taking somebody under his wings he does it full power (until of course he loses interest)! Remember what happened with Himesh bhai?
Sajid says, "Salman has been so excited about doing the show and was very keen that the music and video be very different from anything currently on air."
He goes on to add, "The theme of the game show is very good. It's about giving away lots of money to people. So we planned to do something that suited the game show and it's host rather than concentrate on the ambience and technical aspects. The music video has a deliberate Bollywood theme to go with Salman's star status and attitude while it exudes a gen-next feel with dialogues and marching beats. Salman has always inspired us to give our best."
Yawn....all the same old talk about things being different and never seen before. They really do think the Janta's a bunch of gushing fans, counting down the hours till they catch a glimpse of Sallu. Far from it actually. The Janta's watching reruns of Seinfeld and Friends and not complaining!
Somebody tell them that the concept of the show is still damn vague. On top of that it's really difficult to envision someone like Salman as a great host! If at all I watch it will be to figure which episode he turns up drunk to and of course which freaking country that lousy accen tis from. Belapur?
The recently concluded video shoot had Salman at his overenthusiastic best. He is matching his aging steps with a troupe of glamorous dancers in the video, we hear that's the only reason he agreed to partake anyways.
In an affable mood and raring to go, Salman added his own inputs to the song too. Dum dum dum dum dum...dus ka dum, dus se bhari hum....bandh muthi ki jholi, percent mein hogi boli...lagbag bhi joh bolega...bhar dunga uski joli...-that's what good old Sallu Bhai wrote!
