This could be a simple thing as his white apron got dirty so he put on a black apron or maybe he fails the first task so he is automatically put in black apron round and winning this round would make him safe.

This will be quite interesting to see - why he's in black and everyone else is in white.

My guess is that the worst dish of the first challenge automatically goes into the black apron round and so he’s wearing a black apron
