Don’t mean to intervene but why an extension is such a surprise? It has been done in the past as well. I am sure the channel notifies these people about the possibility of an extension in case the TRPs skyrocket, and yeah well it’s up to them if they are willing to extend their contract. Yes, that could be a possibility, I am not denying it. What I mean is everyone says that she's bashed because they want more sympathy for her which infact could be true. But, now that she's getting new projects while being on the show, this sudden heroine material discussions these are not going to get her any sympathy no? Infact this will get the "colors face" narrative more leverage. Others fandom will pick on it, even neutrals might not like someone getting everything. So how's this going to benefit her if they are really trying reverse phychology on her. Ankit ko bhi sab bolraha tha, that they are doing reverse phychology on him to keep him relevant in the show, so that we feel sympathy for him but nikal diya na use. I am just speaking from that context.
Ofcourse few contestants get favoured every season, this one is no different. Infact every single contestants in this season has gotten favours in some point or other. Just that some people got more favours, and some got less. That's the only difference.

Extension is okay. The TRP is not going to go down even if they extend it till end of Feb. This merging BB 16 to OTT doesn't make sense to me.
