This looks rushed, I think the final cut will be better.
This looks so bad. Looks like a parody of Shakuntala.
The Kalidasa story has so many beautiful elements.
This just looks bad and all actors are atrocious
this always looked super tacky, always knew this will be result if you have neeta lulla designing mythology costumes
somebody pls ban all thes ppl from ruining beautiful stories
why cgi when you can lots of beautiful natural places to recreate the ashram etc
you need not only budgets but also an aesthetic sense to make such movies, currently rajamouli, slb, ashutosh gowariker (though his filmaking has plunged), mani ratnam and sita ramam producers has the sense of such aesthetics
Shaakuntalam has been made on a tight budget of 60-70 crore. Yes the VFX is not perfect but compared to the likes of 500 cr budget Adipurush this looks way better. Some visuals really look grand and appealing, while some shots look like post prod is still not fully done on them.
Agree the trailer wasn't cut very well. Hopefully the end product would be better.

It looks like a TV show adaptation but that makes sense considering the budget. The butterflies were so fake. Sam is a bit dramatic here but that fits the entire 'camp' vibe from this movie. I just love female character movies so I'll be watching but I really think this deserved an adaptation with a far bigger budget.
I love it....I love Indian mythology and anything that is based on that..❤️....as kids we used to read the story of how their son Bharat counted the lion's teeth...😆
Hope the end product is better
It's not bad, it's not good either... It doesn’t look like they managed to capture the essence

And Bharat(India) is named after him
I've mentioned this couple of times - Wish someone made Nala Damayanti story, but a TV series would be better than a movie I think
