And I think it’s quite unfair for things Abdu says and does to be taken at complete face value. It’s unfair for anyone, but especially so for Abdu given his language and culture barrier.

It’s obvious that he didn’t understand the undertones of what was going on at all. It’s only when he went out that he was likely explained everything, and he realized how he was painted and made to look like in this whole crush on Nimmo thing.
