famous song is one thing , playback lyp sych is different thing all together, infact rahat had famous songs for akshey too , rahat is not going to suite akshey in the least bit is a different story

the drawback for udit voice for akshey is that he can not modulate or change his voice , he sounds all the same for every actor song he sings, so many suited and many doesnt suited, akshey lyp doesnt match udit voice but he has sung popular songs

rafi used to change his voice for actors so does Sonu used to do , kumar sanu has modulated his voice much when needed , udit narayan had that one tone throughout his career , nothing negative for udit i love him more than kumar sanu but udit sounded same in every song he sang in his career for each actor

No I heard variety of Udit in Tere Naam title track or Kuch Kuch title track or Dil Ro Raha Hai Mera. Kumar sounded same. An Sonu sounded one note

what Udit sounded in tere naam is what he sounded in kuch kuch in all his song , his tone remain same , Sonu nigam change his tone for different actors he sings for salman , akshey , govinda , srk, saif ali khan songs , .....

Kumar Sanu in 1990s was preferred more than udit due to his voice modulations
